August 5, 200916 yr Hello AllSome of my aircraft have both audible and visual altitude alerts. On the aircraft that only have visual I would like to add audible as well.I thought it would be a matter of checking the panel CFG of an aircraft with audible sounds and adding the appropriate lines to my plane, but I've had no joy so far.I did try installing Glenn Copeland's altitude alerter gauge which would be fine but unfortunately unlike Glenn,s other fine gauges this one simply won't work. This post is becoming long winded...I need an audible altitude alerter gauge please.cheers Andy

August 5, 200916 yr ... Or try my GPWS gauge (file rcbgp-33.zip)Besides Altitude warnings, it includes most usual warnings. And is even, if you want, configurable to have Altitude callouts only :-)Rob

August 6, 200916 yr Author Hello AllI think i have managed to get what i wanted.I hunted through a panel CFG of an aircraft with the (high) altitude sound and found a a gauge that seemed to be the one that activated the sound and transferred it to a 'quiet' Airbus, fired up bus ,selected an altitude, slewed to just below selected altitude and lo! three hundred feet before reaching 6000ft a beeeep! was heard.Cheers Andy

Cheers,Mat Fraser
September 27, 201114 yr In the mean time have you tryed PMSounds? http://www.projectmagenta.com/pmsounds-software/ Download :http://www.projectmagenta.com/downloads/?did=41 Regards Luke M

September 28, 201114 yr Good Heavens !I had forgotten about this post.Matt I am not quite sure what you are asking for.AndyLOL - thank goodness for topic alerts!! I was looking for an altitude alerter gauge for FS9 - one that sounds a tone as you near the pre-selected altitude on the autopilot. I was hoping you might remember which gauge you found and used - though I appreciate its been a few years since then! FWIW I've had a reply on another forum which suggested ML_A30F.ZIP, a FS2002 Airbus panel (It uses ML_AltAlert.gau and HGHB_AltWarn.WAV). I'm pretty sure its what I'm after but I'm yet to test it. Any info you do have would be much appreciated. Mat
September 28, 201114 yr In the mean time have you tryed PMSounds? http://www.projectma...ounds-software/ Download :http://www.projectma...wnloads/?did=41 Hey Spook - I've had a quick look at PMSounds. I already have GPWS callouts and warnings through the RealityXP gauges I use, it was just the altitude alerter that I was after. However, if the gauges above don't work for me then I'll probably use PMSounds. Thanks for the reply,Mat
September 29, 201114 yr You can un-check the GPWS in PMSounds and it wont play them.I made a little recording of the sound i think you mean, hope it helps. Regards Luke M
September 30, 201114 yr You can un-check the GPWS in PMSounds and it wont play them.I made a little recording of the sound i think you mean, hope it helps.Hey thanks for that Spook! Much appreciated! That is indeed the sound I'm after..... I'm going to test it tonight. I don't know if it will work though as the PM site says 'altitude alerts' are in connection with the PM FMS software which I don't run. I'll post the results here anyway on the off-chance that others are looking for a similar solution in the future.....
