New PC

HiI'm thinking about getting a new PC to run FSX as i've had the one I have for ages now. What does everyone think of these specs, would it run it at the high end of graphics?

No. You need to spend more and imho go with Intel to get good performance with addons and high sliders....Something like this:Asus P6T v2i7 920 overclocked to 4.0GHz with a good cooler (linked)http://www.crazypc.com/products/ultra-120-1366-50985.html6GB DDR3 cas 6/7 ramPC Power+Cooling 750wGTX285http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131365http://www.tankguys.com/intel-core-i7-920-d0.htmlhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820226050http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817703009http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130480

Thanks, TBH i would prefer to buy something that is already build. As i live in the UK i was looking at the overclockers site,
Take a look at the Wired2Fire machines. They treat FSX specifically. http://www.wired2fire.co.uk/ccc.php?systype=14 .RegardsPete

I'm still using a Q6600 but from what Ive been reading an overclocked I7 920 is the best bang for buck.

The new Intel i5 processors will be available soon. I
Who told you that? You got sold a bill of goods on that one. i5 will in no way be faster than i7. The specs and capabilities on paper should tell you that...BTW, I paid $199 at microcenter last week for my retail 920 which is the SRP for the i5 750.
According to the (p)review i5 seems to be as fast as i7 in most of the games tested. In tests, that measure maximum calculating power, the results are of course better for the i7 (Hyperthreading).
