Good Day,I have Radar Contact V4.3.3845 CD version working perfectly on my FS9 installation and have been using it for a long time. Now I finally have a computer that will run FSX at max settings with very fluid frame rates and finding myself spending much more time with FSX.What would be the easiest/best way to install Radar Contact so that it works with both programs. Currently running both FS9 and FSX on a dedicated Flight Simulator hard drive with no issues. Radar contact working very well now with FS9 and I do not want to mess up that installation. I did search the forum but found no specific advise in this area....... Can someone point me in the right direction.............Any help appreciated............ JayDub

start the 4.3 installer again, choose the fsx install option. a rcv4x directory will be created. everything you need is there. it will install fsuipc 4.x, and makerwys into fsx. be sure to update those after the install.when you run rc for fsx, start the rcv4 from the rcv4x directory, with admin priviledges if vista/7jd

Hi jd,Not having much luck... Installed from the CD did not see any FSX install option.... Setup just asked what directory to set RCV4 in..... I directed it to my FSX directory and a rcv4 directory was created in the FSX Folder ........ NOT a rcv4x...... May have other issues as well but this may be the major problem....... any advise.......... Received the new key but may have to reinstall and start over........ rcv4 loads but does not see any flight plans in the Flight Simulator X documents folder even though it has been directed to it......Fortunately the FS9 version remains stable....ThanksJayDub

Thanks,Seems I was changing the file structures on my drive and confused the installation and messed things up...... third time was the charm..... All seem ok now both in FS9 and FSX......Great customer support.............. JayDub

John, I'm not 100% sure but I don't think I turned off the ATC in FSX. I seem to rememberize simply turning the sound all the way down and just never opening the silly thing. It's been quite a while though.

that is another option. doing it with fsuipc will sometimes prevent crash to desktops.jd

I'm having problems with my Fs2004 version, and I afraid I have to reinstall the sim. All sceneries, planes, textures, addons, etc.But, I'll have to reinstall Radar Contact? Or reintalling the Fs2004 in the same directory (or same name) will be OK?Thank yoy very much.

I'm not sure about this but...is it possible to use 1 location for the flightplans to be used in RC? I cant' remember reading about in the manual.

sure. rc will remember where the last flight plan came from. but fs9 wants the plan from it's directory, and fsx wants it's directory. rc doesn't care.
