August 21, 200916 yr I think I will go with the super 80 pro. It looks like the best overall addon for realism and features and that training system it has is really what is selling me. I know jack about heavy haulers as I fly mostly rotorcraft with the occasional fixed wing GA. I find it very odd that on F1's website the super 80 pro is 10 bucks more for the download version that the DVD version??
August 21, 200916 yr You will not regret it. I don't know if you like 2D panels or vc better, but the training system works with the 2D. Once you run through that several times, start trying to find everything in the vc until you can perform the whole startup in the vc. Don't forget the checklist once you're done with the training, and also take full advantage of the presets under training. If nothing else, the ICTS will keep it on my hard drive forever, because I tend to fly the heck out of an airplane for awhile, then move back to another favorite, and having that refresher course is great. The forum is also one of the most friendly and helpful in the hobby.
August 21, 200916 yr I didn't realize the Coolsky Super 80 was so good. Now I might consider getting it, since I have finally decided I want to spend time flying regional airliners. Granted, there are not many airlines in Europe that use them, but I do know SAS and Alitalia at least have them. I'm pretty sure there are more though. And, what's nice: Surinam Airways used to fly one. Thanks Tim, for recommending that.By the way, here's maybe something interesting: the Aerosim Classic Jetliner packages. If you are okay with very "default" systems, but love classic jetliners, I really recommend Classic Jetliners Volume 2. You get three versions of the L-1011 Tristar, the DC-10-30 and -40, and the DC-8-53 and -61. The visuals of the Tristar are very good, of the DC-10 a bit less, and the DC-8 quite frankly looks a lot less nice than the other two. All of them have rather basic systems, but the Tristar has an FMS which works really well, and the other planes have a well working INS system. I did a review of this package, but it has not been published yet. You might want to take a look at the review I did of the Classic Liners Volume 1 package, though. I think it's really below the standards of Volume 2, but nonetheless it includes planes with good looking models, and the Volume 1 package contains the only Boeing 737-200 and Boeing 747-100 with a VC. I warn you though: the VCs are not *that* great, but if you comebine the Boeing 737-200 in that package with the Tinmouse 2 panel, you are in for a great treat! You could try the Overland packages too. These are beautifully made models, but with very basic systems. They have an Airbus and Boeing package. I say check them out, they might appeal to you. August 22, 200916 yr Hi Drumcode, I've always been a fan of Captain Sim. Their use of photo realistic textures, modeling of advanced systems, and attention to detail, is bar none the best IMO. Their customer service is less than stellar, and you probably want to wait until each plane has had a patch released. But given that you're hard pressed to find a better bird.Regards,Mark Hi Guys,I'm browsing around for a decent payware jetliner, I'd like one for long haul routes and the other for local routes, I prefer Boeings but Airbus would do too. I see that PMDG put out 747 for a greedy $80.00, that's a ridiculous amount of money for a FS add-on, imo of course. There's no way I'll shell out that much. Are there any 737's, 777's or 47's available that you would recommend? i9-13900K @ 5.8Ghz / Asus TUF 4090 OC / 32 GB DDR 5 / Corsair 1000W PS / Pimax Crystal / 2 SATA SSD / 2TB M2 SSD/ DOF Reality H3 motion platform/ Win 11
August 22, 200916 yr I just remembered something: if you are into regional jetliners, take a look at the Digital Aviation Fokker 70/100 package.
