I'm waiting for you there :--)Best regards,DavidDirect link to the Forum Hi David,This is just the briefest of visits to your new forum to state on behalf of all the contented XP users out there (myself included) that unless Microsoft is willing to reconsider and provide an acceptable upgrade route from XP to Windows 7 then I am predicting that you are likely to be feeling very lonely here for quite some time. Microsoft are continuing to provide support for XP until April 2014 yet seem to care very little for those users who might otherwise be tempted to change. Just had to get that one off my chest..LOL. Seriously, though, as good as Windows 7 may be, who needs the hassle right now or for the forseeable future? Also, I do wonder how many happy Vista users will want to shell out for yet another operating system now that Vista is working well for them?Hated being the first to post, but I can't help but feel that this failure may be the latest Microsoft blunder which this time could prove to be disastrous, unless, of course, they can be encouraged to think again.Regards,Mike

It is much more than two times 32 bit.64 bit allows WAY more memory, registers, arrays, HD space, video memory...on and on and on.I think 7 will do OK. I'm still on XP btw. No agenda, just don't need to move forward. Kind of like I don't need to buy a new fridge.Braun

Since I was in "rebuild" mode I decided to go with Win 7 Professional 64 bit and took the plunge.Jury is still out vis' a vis' FSX performance but I can attest that Win 7 is a LARGE improvement over Vista and a very capable and comfortable OS.Braun (Win 7 and 8 Gigs of RAM)
