September 21, 200916 yr will do! Version 2.0 (whenever that is) will be a serious overhaul tackling most of the deficiencies in the first version...pilot, ADF, custom sounds, more systems programming, higher resolution textures, refined 3D model, video tutorials, etc. Probably see that towards the end of the year or early next year.....I'm definitely aware of the shortcomings and will strive to improve.Awesome! Your MU-2 is my favorite add-on in XP. In fact, it was seeing your MU-2 that brought me to finally purchase XP. September 23, 200916 yr As people have said XPlane 9 and MSFS X have their own challenges and triumphs. Personally, as a real pilot flying sims I have both. I would love to see G1000 support in XP, however, the G1000 in MSFS X in NOT complete in its functionality. There are many functions left out of the MSFS X G1000 including stormscope, XM weather, ability to change the compass rose from 360 view to 120 degree view, and others. The most annoying thing about MSFS X for me is the adjustable pitch propeller "bug" where the RPM sound of the prop changes with very little throttle movement. Otherwise, the fixed pitch prop default C172 sounds great. Unfortunately, this ruins just about every airplane except for the C172 and the jets. XP has a lack of eye candy which is a detriment to visual navigation. XP default roads aren't always where they should be and many obstacle towers appear in places they shouldn't be (such as on the airport grounds of Indianapolis International). So choose your vices. Neither is perfect in my opinion.EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention that neither gets turboprop modeling right either. There is no ability to feather a prop on the ground in either sim without shutting down. The majority of turboprops idle from start with a feathered prop, this would be a nice feature.

But, I never do... On the other hand, I use noise cancelling headsets, which lowers the engine/prop noise anyway. In the meantime, I haven't found a plane in either sim that has the "braking" abilities of a C/S prop in the approach phase.L.Adamson
September 23, 200916 yr "The most annoying thing about MSFS X for me is the adjustable pitch propeller "bug" where the RPM sound of the prop changes with very little throttle movement."I agree totally here-I have been on a rampage about this for years. A little birdy tells me it may be possible to do this properly in fsx and may appear soon. Why the developers never did this properly I don't know-xplane certainly has this right.Larry-my Baron does not have prop sync and the only way you can sync the prop is by sound-even with noise cancelling sets.Xplane does a great job of this-I haven't flown a plane in fs9/fsx that does yet...but yet may be coming soon. Otherwise, the fixed pitch prop default C172 sounds great. Unfortunately, this ruins just about every airplane except for the C172 and the jets.Today, I made it a point to listen to the differences in sound, while moving the throttle and keeping the engine RPM's constant. I have a 180 HP Lycoming four cylinder engine (0360) & Hartzell constant speed prop. This combo has prop limitations between 2000-2250 rpms.............where the prop should not be run continuously. I also use Telex electronic noise cancelling headsets. My airplane has two exhaust exits which are below the belly pan. About where my feet are. There is a 3/8" layer of insulation and thin carpet. It's a very noisy aircraft without headsets! For this test, I set the prop RPM at 2300. I use this setting for a good part of cross country cruises. I then moved the throttle forwards and back, quickly and slowly. Both my wife and I could here the engine sound changes with each throttle movement. Same with blue knob RPM changes and constant throttle. Therefor, I concluded that FSX doesn't seem to have a real "prop" bug. Must be the reason it's never bugged me in the past.L.Adamson

Pulling rpm however at a constant manifold setting makes little if any change.Takeoff-reduce the manifold to 25" you hear something. Then pull the props back to 2500 and you hear nothing. Try doing a runup and doing a prop check-nothing. On twins again-not possible to sink props by sound on any aircraft I have tried yet. This is one area xplane shines-so far.. Doing your test at runup, although increasing manifold o 30" to get a 2300RPM, which is what we did in the real thing When I pull the propeller control back to 1500RPM and back there is a very discernible sound difference while Manifold pressure remains at 30". I can make a video of it if you like. and I have a video of the run up check on my Crazy Horse flight below. It's toward the end of the video. Edit: Here's the video with the A2A Mustang. October 10, 200916 yr Larry, it is an FS9 plane but have you tried the B200 from Aeroworx?I am no expert on flight models, but the manual mentions that reducing throttle below a certain point in flight will result in the props producing much more drag."In the meantime, I haven't found a plane in either sim that has the "braking" abilities of a C/S prop in the approach phase."
October 10, 200916 yr X-Plane is definitely the future, but lack of addons and producers(PMDG) really annoys a lot of peopleAlso, there is no support, because the official X-Plane forum is filled with extremely frustrated and uptight moderators, so think twice before posting a question there,

October 17, 200916 yr Larry, it is an FS9 plane but have you tried the B200 from Aeroworx?Sorry to drop in here, but the B200 for FS9 has a very annoying issue concerning the sound when you take the original soundfile. The prop sound changes with torque setting, not with prop rpm. Even if you don't touch anything during climb the sound changes significantly because the torque reduces with increasing altitude.Otherwise Aeroworx' B200 is a fine airplane in my opinion.
