September 8, 200916 yr I have my profile in there, I have connected it to the FS9.exe - what else have I not done in order to have nHancer start automatically?ThanksNicholas
September 8, 200916 yr Nhancer should just be running in the background...usually you just select the option to start nhancer when windows starts (look under option in nhancer). Once you make a profile, keep nhancer running (you can minimize it, just make sure its in your toolbar in the lower right hand corner). It will load settings automatically when you start programs that have profiles. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
September 8, 200916 yr I don't believe nhancer loads any profiles, unless you select the "profile can activated manually" box checked, and then manually load the profile using nhancer. Normally the driver loads the profile with no need for nhancer to run.scott s..
September 9, 200916 yr Normally the driver loads the profile with no need for nhancer to run.scott s..As far as on my computer, if I completely close down nhancer (remove it from my start toolbar) I will not get my profiles loaded. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
September 9, 200916 yr Profiles should be loaded by the NV control panel applet. There should be a registry entry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak]"NvCplEnableActiveApp"=dword:00000001 Which tells the driver to load any profile that's available. You should be able to see your profile in the NV control panel, but you might not see the exact individual setting if it's something nhancer can change but not the NV control panel.For example I have profile from enhancer that looks like this in nvapps.xml: <PROFILE Label="FS9"> <APPLICATION Label="fs9.exe"/> <PROPERTY Label="aa_default" Value="0x00000018" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="gamma_correct_aa" Value="0x00020000" Default="0x00020000"/> <PROPERTY Label="aa_selector" Value="0x10000000" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="ws_aa_fs_gamma" Value="0x00000002" Default="0x00000002"/> <PROPERTY Label="af_default" Value="0x00000010" Default="0x00000001"/> <PROPERTY Label="aniso_selector" Value="0x10000000" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="vsync_default" Value="0x47814940" Default="0x60925292"/> <PROPERTY Label="image_settings" Value="0xFFFFFFF6" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="trilinear_optimization" Value="0x00000001" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="aniso_sample_optimization" Value="0x00000000" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="d3d_negative_lod_bias_status" Value="0x00000001" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="force_dxt3" Value="0x00000000" Default="0x00000000"/> <PROPERTY Label="max_prerender_frames" Value="0x00000003" Default="0x00000003"/> <PROPERTY Label="hdr_lighting" Value="0x00000000" Default="0x0000001F"/> </PROFILE> The NV control panel shows it:At least that's my understanding. Recommend take this to the hardware/video forum to get experts there to help.scott s..
September 10, 200916 yr Author Well thanks all: I think now that it is actually running. My concern began when in some payware scenery there was way too much fizzing and popping and general shimmering for my tastes, but then again even the best payware from a cupla years ago was pretty noisy in places.
September 10, 200916 yr Simply put, you DO NOT need Nhancer running to see the effects it has. Make the profile and close it. I only run Nhancer once everytime I get new Nvidia drivers, then I disable it at startup. When you aren't editing Nvidia's profiles (which is all it does) it's a waste of resources! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
September 11, 200916 yr Zach is correct. NHancer does not need to be running. Make your changes and then exit out of the program. Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
