Weather Themes

Featured Replies

Is there a way to create your own weather themes which will show up in the weather theme list?In this way - if you have particular weather situations that you like - you can just quickly load it up rather thanhaving to set up the details every time you want to use that particular type of weather. Thanks, Al

I think that when you save a flight, it also saves the weather.

Yes I understand that Jay but how can one get the saved weather and convert it to a weather theme so it appears in the weather theme list? One is a WX file and the other is a WTB file. Thanks Al

Cant save weather themes in FSX. The suggestion to set your weather and then save a flight is the only way.

It is possible, ORBX provides 2 custom weather themes with FTX, I don't know how they made them either.Best to ask over at the FTX forums... I would also love to know how to create my own weather themes.

It is possible using the old FS9 weather_theme_sdk. It is a free download, but I don't remember where I downloaded it. There is no need FS9 to be installed. It works independently and creates the necessary files which you have to place into the correct fsx folders. I guess I found the link in avsim library, but I'm not sure. I don't use it anymore because it is not too easy to work with.Harry

Hi,an other posibility is a little freewaretool of Gunnar Daehling, the Weather Engine. You can create with help of an graphical interface very easy weatherthemes. The themes you can use with the FS9 or the FSX. You can download the Weather Engine on the website of the autor here. You can create very impressiv weathersituations!
