September 16, 200916 yr Projected cost is about 100K (USD), for starters. They had it on display back in LAkeland, FL, at the Sun'n'Fun event (no they didn't fly it there). IT looks - different - but interesting.

September 17, 200916 yr MITthats the problem with smarts sometimes, not much common sence the Idea has been around for a long time. if it were truely feasible , much less economical it would have already been a reality. It really isn't any different than whats been seenit's just more aerodynamically looking and what's worse,, it hasn't even completed a simple cross country leg.....it's barely gotten off the ground. where as this one has http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_car_(aircraft)and how many of these do you see tooling the streets or even the skyfor the mega rich ... whatever..... practical , neverbesides ....throw in a cell phone :( or a makeup artist and they'll be droppiing like flys, crashing thru someones roof and killing the poor schmuck homeowner who btw over paid for goods so the guy selling them could afford the death trap. :( oh ....sorry was I using my outloud voice? :(

I also dont understand why people keep wanting to mix flying with cars. The two things aren't meant to mix (until we get anti-gravity or something). These types of technology advance is of course good over-all (technologies which spark other technologies). And it's cool that it actually flies. But as far as real-world application, it doesn't make much sense. It's basically a small airplane which you can drive home. It's probably not a very good car, nor a very good plane. Their target market is only for those with expendable income and want a toy to play with. Think about it; if i had the cash to buy this, then i'll probably already have a nice car to drive, and a nice airplane parked at my local airport. Why would i trade those in for a so-so car/plane? (to save gas cost?...but the rich don't care about gas cost).Don't get me wrong; i love cool tech and pushing things forward. But sometimes these ideas are just bad to start with. For example, I love to drink coffe in the morning while reading news on my laptop. I'm sure we can make a laptop that can also heat up your water and make coffe....but is it really useful? Answer...No. -feng
September 17, 200916 yr Moderator ...but the rich don't care about gas cost)Oh, I don't think that's universally true. I remember all too well scratching my head while my former boss (the late Chuck Forcey, CEO of Laz-Z-Boy) whined about the rising costs of Jet-A, while simultaneously ordering a nearly $1.2 million refit of his Citation Sovereign's three year old interior... :( Fr.
