September 24, 200916 yr Hi MikaelI have just had a look at the specs for Ultimate Weather, and it does mention A2A lighting modification amongst other lighting effects so we could be heading in the right direction, BUT I would not just uninstall it without checking that it has made a backup of your original texture / effect files, and then using the program to undo the changes made before you use the uninstall procedure.Jim Hodkinson
September 25, 200916 yr Author Hi JimI don really understand how you mean about using program to undo changes? I have already pushed the uninstall button, nothing happend more than default clouds. But there's still an folder in my FSX folder with ultimate weather. And nothing new of course, should have wait for your reply. Dont really know what to do here, it's boring without nav/strobe lights :( regardsmikael
September 25, 200916 yr Hi MikaelFor the Shockwave lights you should have besides the fx_shockwave_navred.fx files in you FSX/effects folder four textures in the FSX/effects/texture folder named.. fx_shockwave_circle.bmp fx_shockwave_lights.bmp fx_shockwave_lights_l.bmpand fx_shockwave.bmpThese bitmaps control the visual look of the effect files, if they are damaged or missing no shockwave lights will show correctly if at all.For the default lighting, that can be replaced by going to the FSX/shockwave lights folder and copy and paste the original textures and effect files back into the original folders, but you may as well just uninstall shockwave which should do the job for you, and reinstall and then checking you aircraft such as the Jetstream and you CS aircraft you mentioned. As for Ultimate Weather (and ActiveSkyX for that matter) it has in it
September 25, 200916 yr I have used this settings..[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabinlight.0 = 3, 3.12, -30.18, 1.40, fx_PMDG_J41_navredlight.1 = 3, 3.12, 30.18, 1.40, fx_PMDG_J41_navgreenlight.2 = 2, -29.0, 0.00, 12.63, Fx_shockwave_strobe_llight.3 = 2, -1.6, 1.82, -2.51, Fx_shockwave_strobe_nllight.4 = 1, -29.418, 0.00, 12.59, Fx_shockwave_beaconlight.5 = 9, 21.10, 0.00, 2.61, fx_PMDG_J41_vclightlight.6 = 3, -28.98, 0.00, 1.77, fx_PMDG_J41_navwhitelight.7 = 4, 21.10, 0.00, 2.61, fx_PMDG_J41_vc_ambientlight.8 = 7, 4.11, -29.50, 1.24, Fx_shockwave_landing_lightlight.9 = 7, 4.11, 29.20, 1.24, Fx_shockwave_landing_lightlight.10 = 10, 16.00, -2.00, 2.96, fx_PMDG_J41_cabinlightlight.11 = 10, -6.00, 0.00, 2.96, fx_PMDG_J41_cabinlightTake a look!!
September 25, 200916 yr I used your shockwave seetings too, and guess what? Now I have lights again with DX10 enabled. I was missing them ever since I installed the JS41 and selected the DX10 preview. They worked however in DX9.I do have to try your latest settings though, since the tail light was missing in certain spotplane positions (it was like...embedded in the tailsection of the plane). September 25, 200916 yr Author Hi again JimI've got these files in my effects folder.fx_shockwave_circle.bmpfx_shockwave_lights.bmp but the other two is missing. The PMDG MD11 has only the landing lights, and i managed to get the strobes but hey where sitting above the wing. One thing i wonder is, if i look inside my shockwave folder/backup there are only two files in the effect folder fx_strobe.fx and fx_strobeh.fx, in the texture folder there are only one named halo.I'll test an uninstall of shockwave lights to see if that helps.thank you for your kind help and take care with the painkillers :( regardsmikael

September 26, 200916 yr Does the landinglights switch still work with you guys? For some unkown reason the switch reverts back immediatly after trying to turn on de LDG lights. Didn't have that before the change to the shockwave lights, but...it shouldn't matter, should it?But with the original files (*.cfg files), the lightswitch works OK.CONFIRMATION: wih the changes configfiles the switch doesn't work correct anymore.aircraft.cfg:[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabinlight.0 = 3, 3.12, -30.18, 1.40, fx_shockwave_navred_nl,light.1 = 3, 3.12, 30.18, 1.40, fx_shockwave_navgre_nl,light.2 = 2, -29.0, 0.00, 12.63, fx_shockwave_strobe_l_2,light.3 = 2, -1.6, 1.82, -2.51, fx_shockwave_strobe_l_2,light.4 = 1, -29.418, 0.00, 12.59, fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red,light.5 = 9, 21.10, 0.00, 2.61, fx_PMDG_J41_vclightlight.6 = 3, -28.98, 0.00, 1.77, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_nl,light.7 = 4, 21.10, 0.00, 2.61, fx_PMDG_J41_vc_ambientlight.8 = 7, 4.11, -29.50, 1.24, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_nl,light.9 = 7, 4.11, 29.20, 1.24, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_nl,light.10 = 10, 16.00, -2.00, 2.96, fx_PMDG_J41_cabinlightlight.11 = 10, -6.00, 0.00, 2.96, fx_PMDG_J41_cabinlightlight.12 = 5, 26.70, 0.00, -1.80, fx_Shockwave_landing_lightpanel.cfg:// Coaming Panel Gear Annunciators//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////gauge177=j41!pmdg_j41_nose_gear_ann, 859,412,108,38gauge178=j41!pmdg_j41_left_gear_ann, 801,453,108,38gauge179=j41!pmdg_j41_right_gear_ann, 916,453,108,38////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////gauge180=PMDG_BAe_JS4100!Davtron, 909, 53, 114, 41, 1gauge181=PMDG_BAe_JS4100!Davtron, 909, 95, 114, 41, 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Test Panel Annunciators ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// gauge182=j41!pmdg_j41_secondary_gear_ann, 70,516,70,70gauge183=j41!pmdg_j41_standbypwr_ptt_ann, 0,516,70,70gauge184=Shockwave_Lights!SW Lights_gear, 934,967,10,10/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// VC SECTION 2EDIT2: Still weird: during nighttime the switch seems to work again :( The summ up:landinglightswitch doesn't work during daytime, but does work during nighttime. September 26, 200916 yr Jim - Unrelated to any issues posted here, thanks for providing your A2A Shockwave 3D lights config for the J41...it's looking and working great on my installation. Much appreciated! :( Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
September 26, 200916 yr HiThank you Rudi happy to help.EricI was just looking over you configuration for the A2A lights set-up, and the only difference that I can find between your set-up and mine, is that I have the SW Lights_gear gauge in my panel.cfg file, other than that it
September 26, 200916 yr HiThank you Rudi happy to help.EricI was just looking over you configuration for the A2A lights set-up, and the only difference that I can find between your set-up and mine, is that I have the SW Lights_gear gauge in my panel.cfg file, other than that it's exactly the same..Jim HodkinsonI'm having that SW lights_Gear too...see the gauge #184 line I posted. If possible, can you post your panel.cfg?I was fabbergasted myself...what would trigger a switch to work in night time only? THis is unreal...quite...stuppid, so...it must be something else.Has it something to do with the location of the gauge184 line? I have it in the testpanel section, since that's weher gauge182 and 183 are. I was just putting the gausge184 with it. Eric [FSX on Windows7 64-bit]
