Citation X 2.0 FMS

Featured Replies

HiIMHO, the Citation X 2.0 Flight Management System documentation that comes with the plane is very basic ("CX20 FMS Example Flight", 6 pages! :( )I would like to know where can I find a more complete documentation about it in order to understand it and how use it on that aircraft :( Thanks in advanceRegardscmgam

We will be providing more documentation for the FMS in the near future.Of course, asking in our forums would have gotten you this answer as well. :(Real world documentation for our FMS is not a really good idea as there are no assurances we matched it 'feature-for-feature', but rather set it up as best configured for FS itself.

You are correct. A more complete FMS Document is currently a work in progress. We wanted folks to enjoy the aircraft with out delaying the release over WIP Documentation.I just counted fourteen documents in our CX2.0 Documentation folder including two sample flights. One with plates and instructions. In addition I happen to be working with a real world CX Pilot on a Quick Start Guide while others are working on a more complete FMS Document. Finally, all CX2.0 Documentation is under review for revision as required. Meantime feel free to visit our CX2.0 Support forum where many answers have already been provided. :(

I really want to say something about this. I see a lot of posts in various places regarding this aircraft. I'd like to offer another view on this company. I bought this aircraft a little while back and have since gotten a refund. I had the same issue as you and had a lot of questions regarding the FMS. The lack of documentation was a problem for me. I went to their forums asking legitimate questions, only to have them constantly dodged. It's like pulling teeth trying to get straight answers, and if you do get a response, you're lucky if isn't short, abrasive, or rude. I think some folks might know who it is I'm talking about. The aircraft had been out for quite some time before it had "full" functionality. They charged full price for an incomplete aircraft and made you wait until whenever until the NAV upgrade. You could say, "you didn't have to buy it until the upgrade". I didn't have an issue flying it in this state, but I didn't know I would have constant CTD's and lockups in the meantime. At the time, they made it clear to me that I wasn't going to receive any additional documentation and everything that comes with the plane is more than enough. They made it clear, that they are not willing to help ones who may need a little assistance. You get what you get and that's it. It now looks to me that they might be changing their tune a little bit, but I've already made up my mind.I really expected more from these guys. It's a real shame because I really love this particular airplane, and I'll admit, I've toyed with the idea of re-buying. But every time I go over to their forums, I see the same customer service and nasty responses and I come back to my senses. I'm not arguing that it's not a great airplane. I know tons of work went in to this. But it is definitely lacking in some areas.Hope this helps someone out there. Just one guy's opinion.Robert

Robert, you may wish to revisit the forum if you wish to find latest information and attitude change. The next few days should finalize the FS9 Project with Hotfix 1.8.The pressure is lighter now despite our workload and we hope to finalize the FSX CX 2.0 Beta Test and release very quickly now. :(

HiFirst let me thank you all for your replies. What I had in mind is something like a "How to...", "Tutorial ....", etc.; Nothing like a pro manual. I know my limits :( I'll wait and to keep an eye on Eaglesoft forum to see what future will bring :( ThanksRegards

A very limited "how to" or "tips and tricks" doc is possible. Tutorial past the Sample Flights is beyond our scope for this project. :(

Does it mean you suggest to use r/w documentation for this aircraft? Good enough if it flies as published and the documents are available for public use. Otherwise you can't just leave it undocumented for your customers? That would be beyond the scope indeed.Thanks,Dirk.

What it means is that we will provide a limited "tips and tricks" doc and a more extensive FMS doc when those are complete. Those will be in addition to the fourteen docs already mentioned. At no time do we intend to provide Type Training or Type Tutorials. We cannot and will not advise anyone on the use of real world documents in FS. Those are user decisions/choices and Eaglesoft has no responsibility or liability for users choices. :(

That's exactly my experience. After installing the long due Navdata update I had an issue (i.e. bug) with the regional (date) settings.I posted a few messages on their forum so they could reproduce the error. Big mistake... I got a rude reply.Consequently I have stopped asking questions on their forum.

Some companies don't understand the importance of good customer service. One upset customer can ruin a business. It seems to me that they see some of the posts as personal attacks. The one is very sensitive over certain posts since he's dedicated so much time into the programming. I can understand that. But no matter what, you need to provide the same level of service to everyone. Adding the smile faces and other emoticons at the end of rude posts won't change the fact that it's still rude.

Egbert, the thread in question is still in our CX2.0 Archive for you or others to follow in context. The response you mention was made under duress as we were attempting to find an unknown bug in Regional settings. As you know, the exchanges were wearing on team and customer alike but the bug was found and Hotfix 1.7 was released in a very timely fashion. The CTDs and other issues mentioned by Robert here in this thread have all been addressed as well. The essence of good support is that issues are noted, tracked, addressed, and fixes released in a prompt and polite manner. There are no excuses offered for poorly stated or rude replys by team or customer. The forum remains, and issues/questions are addressed and answered. I've also added three new forum personel to lighten the load on the individual in question. We've worked to the point of exhaustion for over three years now to provide an outstanding product for you all to enjoy. Why not highlite the fact that you received support, the issue was resolved, and a Hotfix was released? :(

Robert, the difficulties of typed communications/miscommunication often lead to misunderstandings. That is the primary reason that nearly ALL forum software contains a smilie option.I've used them extensively for years and will continue to do so. Not as a "coverup" for rude behaviour as you imply but rather to convey good will to the extent that I am able. :(

And let's not forget, of course, that Eaglesoft is one of the best developing teams of top notch addons for MSFS, is what eventually matters the most for me. One just can't expect every other team to be like the blokes at HIFi Sim for example. At least not in the real world. :( Thanks,Dirk.
