October 30, 200916 yr Steve,Actually the easiest way by far is to make a backup copy of your Aircraft folder before installing the demo of FsHotSFX. If you uninstall it, you just replace the folder. I probably have about 300 different aircraft.cfg files in my Aircraft and I certainly don't want to go through each one to delete those lines. FSHotSfx does add those lines to the very bottom of the file though.I agree with garydpoole 100%. You don't know what you're missing if you'ver never tried FSHotSFX. The spooling and reverser sounds are awesome to listen to while you're at an airport. It really makes each airport come alive. I may sound like I'm exaggerating, but I mean I'm really impressed by this addon. Here's a quick video of FSHotSFX (or AIBlast) at work: AIBlast demo video

October 30, 200916 yr Could you guys please tell me the file name of that AI traffic sounds u are talking about that could be found on avsim?ThanxThe filename is FSHFX11F.zip - It can be found here:http://www.fshotseat.com/Downloads.asp
October 30, 200916 yr Also do a search for "FSHotSFX" here in the Avsim library and you'll find the different aircraft sounds that you can use with the program. For example:A320 Soundset for FSHotSFX Airbus A330 PW Soundset for FSHotSFX Boeing 717-200 Soundset for FSHotSFX
October 30, 200916 yr Product page says it isn't compatible with Vista though which I assume means no W7 either. - Aaron
October 30, 200916 yr I'm going to purchase a new PC at the end of November and I'll try to get FSHotSFX running on 64-bit Windows 7, but I doubt if I'll be successful. I'll really miss the addon, but my current PC needs replacing.
October 30, 200916 yr Hi Gang.Just one final question if I may. This does sound very good, and I think that I will grab it. However, will this enhance the sounds while using VATSIM do you know. I know it's not officially AI traffic, but if this program does alter the cfg files for all of you're a/c, then surely this sound enhancement would be present while flying on-line with VATSIM.In a way, this is Also a form of AI is it not? Thanks. :( Steve. October 30, 200916 yr Steve,I'm pretty sure it does not work with VATSIM. It only will work with aircraft that are found in your Aircraft folder and I don't think the user airplanes that are used with VATSIM are found in that folder. In other words, FSHotSFX only works with offline AI aircraft.
October 30, 200916 yr Thanks. What a shame, as this would have been fantastic indeed. Oh well.So am I to understand that if I install the demo and decide that I am not too keen for whatever reason, I can un-install it without messing up my FS aircraft. And of course I will back up my FSUIPC first. What happens if after I install FSHotSeat I copy my FSUIPC Original back into the FS9.1 Modules folder. Thanks for any help with these questions. Steve. October 31, 200916 yr Actually my new plans are to do a dual boot install of 64-bit Windows 7 on one hard drive and 64-bit XP on a second Raptor hard drive just for FS9 and possibly FSX. It would definitely be hard for me to back to using FS9 with FSHotSFX.Steve, If you try the demo, the extra lines added to your aircraft.cfg files in your Aircraft will not negatively affect them if you decide to delete FSHotSFX and not use it. The extra lines mean nothing to FS9 or anything else other than for FSHotSFX.As for FSUIPC, make a backup copy of FSUIPC before installing FSHotSFX because it does overwrite it with an earlier version. Then after installation, delete the one that the program installed and re-copy your backup back into the Modules folder. I use the most recent version of FSUIPC and it works just fine with FSHotSFX and everything else.
