October 29, 200916 yr As good and beneficial FSUIPC is acclaimed to be, I realize that it is NOT necessary for FSX or FS9. I do use the unregistered versions for both FSX and FS9. For FS9 I use version 3.7 and for FSX I use 4.5.So far, I have not tinkered with either one. And I never found the NEED to do it. Do the different versions of FSUIPC have different and updated functions? Am I missing something? Hope not.Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks.Abe
October 29, 200916 yr You are not missing something, you are missing nearly everything. You can download a raft of instructions and manuals from http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=74352without needing to make the purchase.FSUIPC does so many things, you soon find you don't just need it, you HAVE to have it.

It is the number one FS addon. A true must have.
October 30, 200916 yr I can have custom joystick settings for different planes.I don't think anything else will do that.
October 30, 200916 yr I cannot argue strongly enough for the installation of FSUIPC. As Snave said, "you are missing nearly everything". You will find possibilities of which you never conceived. You will need different versions for FS-9 and FSX. Buy 'em and don't look back. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
October 30, 200916 yr Moderator Truly, FSUIPC is a veritable "Swiss Army Knife" utility program. It can enhance one's enjoyment of FS9/FSX so much simply by eliminating many of the minor, yet still annoying shortcomings of the sim.Such as, extending battery life to something approaching reality, and smoothing wind transitions.Allowing for custom per-aircraft control calibrations, so that one has non-linear response curves where required/desired.There are so many things FSUIPC can accomplish, it would fill a very large book. Oh, that's right......there IS a book available! :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

In addition, you also pointed out a few features that I was not aware of. You have, in essence, convinced me without any doubt to join the MULTITUDES and get a REGISTERED FSUIPC.As a footnote, I'd like to add an observation. I happen to enjoy my Saitek Multi-Panel which works seamlessly with practically all aircrafts including addons, in both FSX and FS9. Maybe, I could run things EVEN BETTER taking your advice. Thanks again, gentlemen. It is people like you who make the forums and AVSIM even better.Abe

It is design to be used with FSX directly and is only guaranteed to work with stock FSX aircraft. It will not function properly with many addon aircraft.Regards,Bob
November 3, 200916 yr And just to add, that the programmer of FSUIPC himself does a formidable job of hosting the official support forums! "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
