November 22, 200916 yr Hi there guys,Sorry to bother you all as this might sound like an easy solution. Due to me knowing nothing about computers it is not something i can work out.I have windows XP i run FSX. i have been enjoying the JS 4100 for about three months now and love it.i have the new version uplaoded aswell. However all of a sudden i can not seem to use the JS4100.When i go to free flight then choose an aircraft i can load any type that i have [defult and payware] except for the JS4100.i have uninstalled and reinstalled the JS and i have also deleted all the files left in FSX.everytime i try and use the JS4100 [load it from the free flight window or even if i try and change aircraft after a i have started a flight] i get the picture of the JS4100 in the free flight window but then the mouse changes into an hourglass and then FSX stops and wants to restart again.I have no idea why it has only just started to happen as all was fine b4.??????I am only guessing it has something to do with FSX not reconizing the JS4100 or something like that as the rest of my collection work ok.???please help as i already miss flying the JS4100. thank you in advance, kind regardsFletch
November 22, 200916 yr Please sign your full name in this forum, Fletch. Were there any problems during the installation of the JS41 the second time?Perhaps something messed up the fsx dll.xml file or the C++ runtime library that is also installed by the pmdg installer, I would suspect the xml file because if it were smashed the symptoms would be as you describe. Hope this helps: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/How_t...SX_DLL.XML_File Dan Downs KCRP
November 23, 200916 yr Author Thanks Dan for getting back to me,i will look at the thing you attatched and hopefully will follow it to the T and then i will let you know how i went with it.Thanks for helping. No, the second time i reinstalled the PMDG JS4100 and the update it all loaded onto FSX all ok. Although still with the same problem with FSX trying to load it.if it helps any, FSX did ask me if i trusted the DDL file and i accepted, but as i mentioned b4, it just gives me the picture and then stops befor it finishes the laoding.kind RegardsAndrew Fletcher [Fletch]

November 23, 200916 yr I am not at my home workstation to compare, but I don't see the JS41 modules. Are you sure you are running the install with admin rights? Dan Downs KCRP
November 23, 200916 yr Author Sorry Dan for not knowing about this but how do i check that i have installed with the admin rights?Kind RegardsAndrew Fletcher

November 25, 200916 yr Hi Dan,Mine didn't have any modules listed just the normal dll.xml file as the original. Could you please post the correct dll file so I can copy it and see if I can get my J41 to at least come on screen.Thank you,Benny Miller
November 26, 200916 yr Commercial Member Dan, the J41 doesn't use dll.xml... That's just the 747 and MD-11. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 15, 200916 yr Hello,I do have the same problem suddenly after using it for 2 weeks without problems. I can't load it up anymore into FSX. It crashes FSX with the sound of a propeller shutting down (even after re-installation)!I checked dll.xml: fine. All aircrafts declared into it load fine.I uninstalled JS41 properly (cleared cash + registry + the 2 JS41 dll in fsx.cfg) and re-installed several times. It does the same thing. The activation process never created any issues when I first installed the JS41.dll.xml is not corrupted as it loads up in IE/Firefox. My PMDG MD11X works fine with the dll.xml declarations.I run XP, FSX, JS41 box version implementing SP1 v1.10.Are there some specific keys I have to delete in the registry (like the activation key)?Please find below my dll.xml.With the hope somebody can help me.Thank you in advance.Pascal Genotal.dll.xml:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?><SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Addon Manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>bglmanx.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>MyTraffic\traffictoolbox.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>IvAp</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>C:\Program Files\IVAO\IvAp v2\ivap_fsx_bootstrap.dll</Path> <Commandline></Commandline> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FeelThere PIC737X Helper</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>FeelThere\B737\PIC737XH.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Level-D Simulations</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>Modules\LVLD.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Options</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGOptions.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Events</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGEvents.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Sounds</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGSounds.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document>
December 16, 200916 yr Commercial Member dll.xml has absolutely nothing to do with the J41 Pascal - the problem lies somewhere else. I really don't have an ideas other than clearing out your fsx.cfg and saved flights. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 16, 200916 yr Hello Ryan,I read already that dll.xml had nothing to do with the JS41 unlike the MD11 and the B744 however, i just wanted to have a look because a screwed up dll.xml is a problem for FSX stability.Fsx.cfg was already cleaned up (Trusted section) before re-installation. Is there another section in fsx.cfg I should be careful of?The Saved Flights directory was also cleaned up from PMDG situations.I make my tests from the Free Flight feature thus creating a new start situation.I have notice that in the registry it remains some keys regarding the PMDG license declaration. Is there some additional cleaning I can perform in it?Thank you in advance,Pascal.
December 19, 200916 yr Ryan,Any answers for my questions above? I am still without my JS41.Thank you in advance.Pascal.
December 27, 200916 yr Halo,Is there somebody at PMDG who could answer my questions?Thank you in advance.Pascal.
