Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Great video! What is the scenery you used for KMIA? I have been trying to find a good KMIA scenery for ages, without much luck...

Thats the totally outdated FlyTampa Miami + the Freeflow Florida/Miami scenery (Freeware) ... www.fs-freeflow.com ...

Thanks! I'll look into the Freeflow scenery. In the meantime, I'll keep wondering why there is no good, updated KMIA scenery available. Surely it's an important airport in the US?

True ... FT should have rather this one getting updated than changing a freeware - Boston into an almost similar payware :( ...

Thanks for the feedback ... but I did upload the wrong version. Here is the "final cut":

This is what my FS9 looks like too (same scenery addons as you) and this is why I have absolutely no reason to move to FSX. What am I missing by not moving to FSX, specular bump mapping and moving cockpit shadows. When you look at this video, you realize how irrational the argument is that FS9 is a dead sim. Add 60fps and the ability to turn all settings up with no compromise...someday there WILL be a replacement for FS9, it just haven't arrived yet.

Thanks to Rex combined with ASV and GE/GE Pro the argument about FS9's viability can be put to rest. This smoothly running video among others and the new screenshots appearing more than proves that. Developers like Aerosoft can choose to ignore the obvious all they want (which they've already done so far) their missing something as I'm hearing more and more simmers revert back to FS9 for obvious reasons. You can't find an FSX video on this level without seeing noticeable performance issues. Today the screenshots that are coming out for FS9 look better than FSX. Half the sim is missing (because of options turned down) in many FSX shots where by contrast FS9 is getting better and better with age. This is an outstanding video, period... Keep the screenshots and videos coming as it's more than a testimate to the case that FS9 is still very much in the game...

That's a terrific video, Matthias, and a real testament to how good FS9 looks now with the recent releases of certain environmental add-ons. I did a flight from KSFO to KPDX yesterday, and marveled at how realistic the multiple cloud layers, courtesy of REX, looked while descending into Portland. :(
