Frame rates?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I am about to buy the JS41 but am a little sceptic about the frame rate impact.I am flying the MD-11.Generally speaking is it better, equal or harder on the frames than the MD-11?Thanks,Christos

The MD11 is frame-rate friendly, the JS41 about the same in my opinion. There is a configuration editor that allows you to lower guage refresh rates and panel complexity giving a boost to low end systems with very little visual impairment.

I have both and their are equally fps-taxing. The J41 just looks much better in the VC while not hitting the fps any harder. The VC of the 11 looks kinda bland after you've enjoyed the J41. Both are not overly fps-friendly though but they are complex deep sims so that has to be expected. If you can fly the 11 you can fly the J41 - you just don't wanna sit in the 11 anymore once you've been in the J41 ;-)

Harsh words... :(The environments in the JS41 and MD-11 are so dissimilar... I'd happily sit in both, and do so, MD-11 in FS9, JS41 in FSX... :(Andrew
