POLL: GPS Unit
i have the xp530. I don't have unlimited resources for flightsim add-ons, so I will have to keep flying with GPS that I have. Probably like a lot of real world pilots. Really hope you are able to do the XP reality.

Thank u RealAir
RobI know that you want to do a jet, but please consider staying in the General Aviation / sport plane arena; maybe a military trainer. I love the duke, but I am not much into flying airliners and heavy transports. Oh yea.... Duke is the plane I fly the most. I am so happy to hear raindrops my be in my future. Icing would be perfection. Thanks againChuck

RealAir Duke B60 or Digital Aviations's Cheyenne?
RobMe too!! I love the Duke. I have 3 other aircraft that I really enjoy and whose features are as good or surpass the Duke in some areas. But I always come back to the Duke for most of my flying. I guess it is the VC and turning those knobs. Or maybe it is the external views of the bare metal version all of those rivets. Maybe it is the sound set set. Maybe it is the flight model ..... For me, FSX just all comes together in the Duke. Great plane! Any hints on what's next? Thanks againChuck

RealAir Duke B60 or Digital Aviations's Cheyenne?
It may be an old thread but it is timely for me. I was just looking at the Cheyenne again last night.... trying to decide between the RXP 530 for the Duke (which I have and love). Or instead a whole other plane like the Cheyenne which I have debated pruchasing many, many times.I am still trying to decide.... maybe I will hold on until the Flight1 king air makes it out and put the money toward that.Chuck

Realair Duke and XP Reality
Thanks for all of the feed back. I dont mind reloading the flight plan.... Not being able to reload a saved flight would be a big hassle.Sounds like I will be adding RXP to my Duke.

Realair Duke and XP Reality
Does anyone know if the XP Reality GPS works properly when reloading a saved flight with the Duke. I have the Flight1 Mustang (Cessna) and because of the complexity of the systemsm, reloading saved flights causes it to lockup. I understand that and I am not complaining about that. But before buying the XP Reality product for the Duke, I want to know if I will have the same or similar problems.I appreciate any insight for those who may have the Duke and the XP Reality GPS.Thanks

Basic questions
I have used FS for many many years. I decided to download the X-Plane demo to check it out. I have some really basic questions. 1. can the joystick hat-switch be setup to pan around?2. does the 3d cockpit have have click spots.3. is there an easy way to map the keys to be consistent with fsx; or any way?i appreciate any info

Best Payware Aircraft? (FSX)
My list includes the L-39, Duke, Mustang and Lionheart Creations' Epic LT. The Epic LT is one of the nicest looking planes I have seen. It is fun to just look at the exterior from all angles. And, it is fast (may as well be a pure jet) and it is even more fun to fly with the latest update. Then to top it off, it is relatively inexpensive. The Mustang is beautiful (inside and out) and so complete, love the icing effect, the auto pilot, the garmins, even the pilot's blinking eyes. The L-39 adds the rain effect (and ice too) so sorely missed in FSX. It is smooth and a blast to fly. The Duke analog cockpit cant be beat. Turning the knobs is so interactive. It is probably best all round. All these models are great, I have enjoyed many others including carenado, eaglesoft and dreamfleet stuff. All of these add-ons have kept me messing with flightsim for 20 years. That is a long time to play a game.Just my for what its worth.

RealAir Duke B60 or Digital Aviations's Cheyenne?
I have been flightsimming since the wire frame cessna was state of the art. The RA Duke and the F1 Mustang are my favorite planes. Why, because they seem the most realistic to me. In my opinion the Duke's VC cannot be beat. Granted I dont own all the planes abvailable on the market, but I do have alot of payware. There may be others that have the similar visual impact, but I haven't seen any that were better; again in my opinion. I would recommend the Duke to anyone interested in that type of plane. I also recommend the F1 Mustang. I would like to have the Cheyenne, but I have a limited FS budget and I went with the new models. I am sure it is is a great add-on. I almost bought it, but at the time went with the F1 Mustang.Man, I wish I had more money to spend.....

How many fly in the VC?
Always VC.... For me, FS is purely entertainment. For me, VC is more fun and seems more real!

Two Duke questions...
Robb, for the life of me, I cannot fine the wing ice light on the duke. I am not talking about the wing ice light on/off toggle switch in the cockpit. I mean the actual light to illuminate the wing. Last night I loaded the duke to a night flight and turned off every light except the wing ice light. There was no light showing on the external view or from the internal view of the duke to illuminate the wing. In addition, I can't find the physical light on the out side of the plane anywhere. So not only does it not seem to work, I dont think it is actually modelled.I appreciate your help. PS I love the duke!Chuck

Two Duke questions...
:( Ryan thanks for the switch location.... but I can find the switch, it is the actual light on the outside of the aircraft that I cant find.

Two Duke questions...
Rob and Sean - like everyone else I want to congratulate you on a job well done. I very much enjoy your products and I think the Duke is the best so far. But right now general aviation is what I enjoy the most in FSX.Regarding the wing ice light, where exactly is it located? I havent done any night flights yet; it is probably more noticable at night. (I know it is not needed in daylight, but I was just looking for it)Also, do you think you might add a realair version of icing? Or is that a no no? It is a great feature on the F1 Mustang and adds what (in my purely entertainment world) is a lot realism for me.Thanks for a great product.

Two Duke questions...
I purchased the Duke. It is a wonderful addon. It is not as complex as the F1 Mustang, which I also have. But it is just as fun. I like their VC and the way the instrument nobs are turned. The flight dynamics seem very realistic. I especially like the pre-stall stutters. And I find it pretty easy on frame rates. I think my system handles it easier than it does the FSX SF260.But I have 2 questions. First, the panel has a wing ice light; but I cant find it on the outside of the aircraft. Has anyone found it?Second, I seem to have problems getting the props to feather; sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. I noticed in the manual that it says to pull the prop pitch lever all the way back and then pull it again. It may be that I am not pulling it a second time. Is anyone else having a problem with Feathering the props?Their implementation of the FSX gps is good and I really dont have a lot of problems with it. I dont know if I will spend more money for the third party version they are planning to support.

VC vs 2D cockpits, opinions?
Jim I am sooo glad you cater to the customer!I have your Mustang and it has the best VC I have seen so far. I will never fly a real world Mustang (although I did go cross country as a passenger up front in a lear once). FSX is purely entertainment for me. So even though you will put a 2D panel in your next product, keep the VC's coming. (I know you will :( )Chuck
