Best Payware Aircraft? (FSX)

Featured Replies

Greetings all.I'm in the market for a payware light twin add on for FSX and just wanted opinions on which one's best in terms of realism.I also miss my old classic GMAX 747-200 for FS9 - is there anything similar for FSX?And while I'm asking, I'm also going to be looking for a BizJet add on at some point too! Many thanks for indulging my sudden plethora of questions.

Which 747-200 are you refering to?CLS has a nice 747 package that is FSX compatible. The systems modeling was very light but the package is very nice visually - lots of eye candy.https://www.commerciallevel.com/webshop.php...89&groep=15

Just remembered the name - it was the Ready for Pushback 747 I had many years ago. The CLS one does look nice, but I do like detailed systems modeling.

Carenado's Seneca is pretty good too but yes, the Duke is probably the best one if you are after a twin.

Yes, the CLS package is not as detailed as the RFP packages. It looks very nice though.

Twin- DukeBizjet- anything from EagleSoft

Umm, we have a light twin Piper Twin Comanche as well.. :(

I would agree with the above that the Duke and Citation Mustang are the best in their respective categories, but if you are on the framerate bubble(like me) then consider the Carenado Seneca or Xtreme Prototypes Learjets. Both are much easier on a marginal system.

I have the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche, Carenado Seneca, and Real Air Duke. They are all very good simulations, but the Duke edges out the other two for me. It's one of the best payware light twins right now. Having said you'll enjoy the other two as well. I think the sound modeling on the Seneca is awesome.

Asking which FSX aircraft is the best is like asking which gourmet food you prefer. There is a whole buffet of adventure, and the hungrier you are, the better it all tastes. However, IMHO the one FSX aircraft that stands out head and shoulders above the crowd is the L-39 Albatross from Lotus Simulations. Its special technology brings so much more to the table than anything else. The Duke is great, and was once my favorite ride, but now it, like the others, feel too far behind for me to turn back to, except for the occasional check ride. To land at night at any FTX airport with the Albatross' red back-lit instrument lighting inside, and new tech landing lights outside is truly as real as it gets. The L-39 bar is higher than anyone else has been able to jump yet, by a very long stretch. I want to encourage enthusiastic developers to not only upgrade their existing products to at least measure up to the L-39, but to run harder and leap ahead of it with new and better ideas, right from the start.Spirit Flyer :(
