October 18, 200916 yr My list includes the L-39, Duke, Mustang and Lionheart Creations' Epic LT. The Epic LT is one of the nicest looking planes I have seen. It is fun to just look at the exterior from all angles. And, it is fast (may as well be a pure jet) and it is even more fun to fly with the latest update. Then to top it off, it is relatively inexpensive. The Mustang is beautiful (inside and out) and so complete, love the icing effect, the auto pilot, the garmins, even the pilot's blinking eyes. The L-39 adds the rain effect (and ice too) so sorely missed in FSX. It is smooth and a blast to fly. The Duke analog cockpit cant be beat. Turning the knobs is so interactive. It is probably best all round. All these models are great, I have enjoyed many others including carenado, eaglesoft and dreamfleet stuff. All of these add-ons have kept me messing with flightsim for 20 years. That is a long time to play a game.Just my for what its worth.
October 19, 200916 yr Best twin = RealAir Dukehttp://realairsimulations.com/duke09/intro...ge=duke09_introBest bizjet = F1 Mustanghttp://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1mustang Wow I'm going add that one to my stable...

October 19, 200916 yr Author Oh, and a question about the Mustang - I'm guessing it doesn't have an FMS, it just uses the GPS?Perhaps better to wait for the Eaglesoft Citation for something more in depth? Jordan Forrest
October 20, 200916 yr Oh, and a question about the Mustang - I'm guessing it doesn't have an FMS, it just uses the GPS?Perhaps better to wait for the Eaglesoft Citation for something more in depth? The F1 Mustang is equipped with a Garmin 1000 that enables GPS and NAV beacon navigation complete with SID/STARS, WAAS and ILS approaches, etc...it's very comprehensive. "In depth" is what you'll get here, but it's not a big jet either. Recommended. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

October 20, 200916 yr The default GPS is bad. There's almost no functionality. October 20, 200916 yr The Mustang is a great effort by Flight 1, but the aircraft it replicates is no one's speedster. My twin turboprop Piaggio Avanti by Mario Noriega can consistently beat its short to medium range flight times. If avionics sophistication apeals to you, you might consider getting the Reality XP 430 GPS. Every page and just about every function exactly mirrors the real world GPS. It will go into just about any panel, and the VC of anything without 3D knobs. I grabbed the 430 when RealAir integrated it into the model. But it adds a lot to a lot of aircraft, including WAAS aproaches. I actually chose to get it instead of the Mustang. The drawbacks of the Reality XP 430 are first that it is based on the Garmin Trainer, and the database is not completely consistent with FSX. So I usually keep the default GPS as a pop up "just in case". Also, the GPS does not send vertical info to the autopilot when executing a WAAS aproach. But it is easy to dial in the right descent rate and still keep 90 percent of the automation of the autopilot. If you want some examples of what Reality XP can do for a VC, check out my thread "Panel edits" in the screen-shot forum.Donald Traill

Speed is a relative thing, the faster you go, the more you want to go faster. The Mustang is not technically a VLJ, but serves the audience well and seems to be one of the very few smaller jets that made it to market and delivered all that it promised and on time. Our Mustang jet was built in official partnership with Cessna and is very feature rich. Is it for everyone? Maybe not, but it sure is a well rounded product. Also, our G1000 serves up current Navigraph data, (by subscription) WAAS approaches that do indeed perform vertical functions and we periodically offer new WAAS / and non Navigraph specific database information at no cost. (that might have to change in the future) So our G1000 can remain almost 100% current if you so choose.Jim Rhoads
