Ultimate Traffic 2 Vs. Traffic X

Maybe that was me? I requested it in the ut2 forums, but I said only at downtimes. Such as at night, when most planes are sitting at their hub waiting for the next days flying. I fly cargo at night mainly, and it is realistic to have an airport packed full of planes that arrived earlier in the day and don't fly out until the morning. It kind of is disappointing to fly into EDDF around midnight and see maybe 2 or 3 if I am lucky, Lufthansa airplanes.
Yeah thats the one down fall is that UT2 doesn't have the overnights parked there. For me its not too much of a big deal because I am still using some of the WOAI cargo stuff since I haven't gotten around to using the power pack yet and those planes will be there in the middle of the night. For the rest of my night flying I just try to plan my flights so that I arrive no later than about 11 pm and there are still a lot of a/c comming and going.

You should probably ask the devs in their forum. I run 100% AI everywhere I fly and dont have those pauses anymore since I updated to SP1. Prior to SP1 I was getting a lot of pauses but no more. I also use the following settings in the UT UI which may make a difference.Target FSX frame rate = offMax altitude ground a/c visable = 10,000 ftDistance to spawn ground a/c = 25 nmMax a/c to spawn = 150 a/cThey can probably help you get it sorted out however so that you dont have the pause problems.
I've been keeping my eye on this thread for a few days now as I was having issues with UT2 pauses and also planes disappearing from gates. One moment they'd be there, pan around the aircraft and look back again and they'd be gone.I changed my UT2 settings to those quoted above and it worked a treat. No pauses to insert traffic, except for at the start of loading and no phantom planes either. It has also been interesting to read what others think about the quantity of AI at airports. I performed a short flight from Geneva to Innsbruck yesterday evening after work. Flight time was around 4.30-5.00am Geneva time; there were a few jets parked at the gates but I was surprised to see around 6 Easyjet Airbuses parked around 2 of the circular 'stand alone' gates. I don't perform night flights very often so will have to see what airports are like at night time. UT2 works from real-world timetables, doesn't it? So what you see in FSX is generally what you'd expect to see for real? Give or take a few.Adam

Hey Adam, glad my settings worked better for you and got rid of the pauses. The developers of the product buy the schedule data for the airliners from another company. So basically the schedules and traffic are about as good a representation of what you will see in the real world. The only way to get more realistic would be to buy FS Live traffic but you have to pay a subscription charge for it. Another thing you may need to check is that some airliners dont have all the paints for the entire fleet and if you have the default UT2 paints unchecked then you maybe missing some a/c. What I did is print out a schedule for the big hub I fly into regularly, then compare the airliners listed in the PDF to the paints for them in the UI. If I find missing ones I fill them in with paints from WOAI packages. In some cases airlines like Corsair were missing a lot of paints, so I was able to fix it by assigning some WOAI paints from their Corsair package.

If you want to compare this 2 do it on this airport TJBQ and you will go with my traffic x for sure ...I was testing both of them with ai at 100% ..with ut2 i got only 4 general airplanes in total and no commercial airliner....with my traffic x i got 10 general airplanes and 9 commercial airlines at the gate now i have flown in real life to that airport and it does have commercial airliners coming in all the time.. And that is not the only airport that ut2 stays short of ai ...
