April 21, 201016 yr After reading this thread I feel that I must have gotten the pick of litter when I bought my copy and applied the final version of SP1 to it.I can access the menus, change views, load a flight plan, etc. and the traffic still remains the same and doesn't refresh. The only time mine will refresh is if I change the time, which of course it to be expected. After the last service pack it solved my problems with the injection pauses as well, which I admit were pretty bad in the first version. After a flight today, I found out it is the same for me. No reinjection after accessing menus, and the traffic actually loads in about 1 second. I also don't observe any noticeable fps loss, even at 100% AI at KLAX. Shane Gavin
April 21, 201016 yr The flight schedule accuracy thing is a little overblown. Major airlines these days adjust flight schedules monthly and sometimes weekly, so it would be nearly impossible to have accurate flight schedules all the time.
April 21, 201016 yr One feature I like about UT2 is the flight routing. If you plan and fly a route using High (or low) altitude airways you will meet many ai aircraft flying in the sky with you. I was flying in the USA the other day in my ES Citation II and a 737 that was on the same route came from behind and above me (about 1 mile separation). It overtook me of course but I was observing that aircraft and its vapour trail for about 10 minutes. It is nice to turn on ai labels and read the AI aircraft routes as thet pass over you or to one side. I found that the South West USA is a happy hunting ground for many vapour trails visible at the same time. That is also a problem though with UT2 when it comes to FS! Since FS doesn't handle separation well, you end up with a line of aircraft playing follow the leader like a family of ducks, all the while ATC constantly issuing traffic alerts. April 23, 201016 yr Alllllrighttttt. Can anyone do a test flight for me at VTBD? Tell me if it's full of traffic at 100%.How about any of the smaller airports in Thailand? VTCH. I mainly fly around there, and with TrafficX, every parking spot is full. However, I'm not sure if UT2 is mainly for US/Euro flyers or fills up every single airport with a parking spot.
April 23, 201016 yr What cargo airlines are missing? Are there Fedex/UPS/DHL/TNT plans? Semi-to realistic?

April 23, 201016 yr I briefly installed UT2 last year, and remembered seeing Cargolux and Martinair. Can't remember if UPS and Fedex are there, though. I was hoping since I last looked at it, they added UPS and Fedex and any others like Atlas, Polar, Amerijet, etc

There is a method of adding them though, if you have flight plans for them, which some have done. They are likely not to be up to date schedules though. Cargolux, Martinair are included and at least some DHL, I didn't see any DHL 757's though in the repaint list. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
April 24, 201016 yr My apologies gentlemen, as pointed out there are a few cargo aircraft in UT2 but they all appear to be non USA airline types. I have certainly never seen any parked flying around non "Port of Entry" airfields but then I don't go around checking every airport. Its a pity that Fedex and UPS don't seem to make it. I still think that UT2 is the best of AI traffic packages around. It seemed a little short on GA aircraft but since I have added a few more airfcraft to the list from my stock aircraft there seems to be plenty of flying activity around. At the moment one of the most frequent is the Waco added to UT2 as a trainer type seems to turn up everywhere on GA aifields. The aircraft I have added which are flyable don't seeem to have any more impact than the specifically designed AI aircraft. April 24, 201016 yr Moderator It seemed a little short on GA aircraft...Did you install the new GA schedule? Log in to their forum and go to this link http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/...ts.asp?TID=7293 and download the new daily schedule for GA.They increased GA flights from about 200k to about 435K. That should give you more GA than you know what to do with. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

This is the problem though, when developers puts an update feature in the GUI of their product, and then doesn't use it. You assume there's no new update because the program tells you you are up to date, so you don't go looking for external updates, and you miss out on their benefits, for a period of time. I wouldn't have known about this unless I saw it in your post. Thanks!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
April 24, 201016 yr How much lower framerates are people seeing? Right now I run with FSX maxed, but no AI. And get about 20-30 fps in the air, and 10-25 on the ground depending what area.
April 24, 201016 yr I would buy UT2 simply for the fact that most, if not all the models were created by guys that have been creating AI models for a long time and really understand how they should perform. Not to mention they simply blow anything else out of the water as far as looks.
