December 23, 200916 yr So I am just a little confused by the discussion about "super values" returning to FSX "default". It was my understanding in the past that I could change a super value at FSX startup and that it would hold as long as I did not go into the "settings" area and change a setting from "a" to "b" by using a slider. I also understood that while flying within the sim I could "alt" to the menu bar, and then "load" a different configuration setting by name; and having done that, it would hold the super value at the previously set higher level. example: I have two configs that use the REX 4096 clouds, one with very dense autogen and one with normal autogen. So I start a flight in an urban area using very dense autogen and then fly into an area with very heavy tree cover and pause the sim, alt to the menu bar, load the named config whose only change is to go from very dense to normal autogen, and then continue the flight. My question, will the super value hold in the example above??Kingfish :(
December 23, 200916 yr What is needed to be done is to open FS and set up your preferred configuration. Close it and edit the cfg file to 12 then restart FS without any further changes. Having said that the weather engine I use has always produced full overcast weather if the relevant Metar indicated such cloud cover! One way to significantly improve your frame rate when the weather is cloudy is to turn off building and aircraft shadows.Vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
