Hi guys,I would like to know how fluid are the instruments in the DA Cheyenne X. I had the FS9 version but uninstalled because the fluidity of the instruments was painfully slow. This is the type of plane I like to hand fly on an approach but I couldn't do it because the ADI was so slow.I would also like to know if the engines spool up excessively on engine start like the default planes or if DA modelled a realistic engine start like PMDG, LDS and a few others do it. Most turboprops and jets in FS (including payware) spike up to 90% + RPM on start before settling back down to idle... very unrealistic. Finally I would like to know if the DA Do-27 is a native FSX?I like RealAir planes for the fluidity of their instruments and I have high expectations. I am a professional pilot with 24+ years of experience and in real life flight instruments are very fluid.I have the PMDG MD11 and J41, RealAir Duke and Lotus L39 and they all have fluid instruments so please don't tell me it depends on my system, a painfully slow ADI can happen with very high overall framerates, it's in the gauge itself. Thanks for the feedback,Dan

I think the instrments in the DA Cheyenne are about as good as any I've seen in FSX, ay least on my mid-level system. I was an IFR rated pilot, so I would immediately pick up on any hesitations or significant lag. This goes for both the 2d and the vc panels, so long as I can maintain 24fps or better. I have noticed some "spool up" on the engines when I load the aircraft with engines running. If this is a problem, I suggest you try loading from a cold, dark cockpit with the engines off.Dale

The DA Cheyenne X is an awesome aircraft. I have not noticed anything negative about the gauges.

I don't have it, but I do not believe the DA Do-27 is native FSX.

No, no it isn't. I purchased the ported FSX version after it first came out. Was disappointed with it's perfmance then, and even more so today, as most all other designers have updated their FSX models to FSX Certified models.I sure wish they would, as I used to fly it often years ago in FS9.

Cheyenne does depend on your system. As you don't tell us what it is, we can't tell you. Spoolup is actually still present, but less noticeable than in FS9. The turboprop air file model is actually worse in FSX than FS9 so you might not appreciate the `improvement` when you find the other problems it generates. ONLY the J41 from PMDG models a proper start at the moment.DO-27 is a portover, not native. Be aware the team that created it has disintegrated (not the DA development name, they are still working) and no further fixes or improvements will be wrought - wysiwyg. But it can be bought cheap. For the light aircraft end, try the incomparable A2A Piper Cub (truly the best air file modelling. EVER) or the new SibWings Cessna 0-1. The Lysander from FSAddon is also a real experience, but not simple - auto flaps and super STOL on the one hand, overpowered, weak elevator authority and poor control harmony on the other, just like the real thing! Challenging, but really fun!

Hi,i7 975 overclocked, 6 GB, ATI 4890 1GB.With all due respect it has nothing to do with how fluid an ADI is, for example the Cheyenne in FS9 has a VERY slow ADI (not fluid) with 50+ framerates outside the window, samet hing with the Eaglesoft Citation X in FS9. I remember how it was impossible in FS98 to have smooth gauges even with 100 + FR. Even on my old system the PMDG 744 had fluid instruments with slow FR out the window. The Maddog, PMDG 744 and MD11, LDS 767 give me very fluid instruments in both FS9 and FSX.I appretiate the comments about the turboprop model, I think you are absolutely right about the weakness in FSX and the quality of the J41... wht a great plane by the way.I am considering the A2A Cub, I wish it was a Super Cub. The Cub is so slow!!! I am looking for something new to use in ORBX scenery, the Grenadines and Tongass scenery. Thanks for your comments,Dan
