TrackIR F12 keyboard question

Featured Replies

This is probably an easy one. I've had TrackIR4 for over a year now (can't imagine ever flying without it) and simply use the keyboard F12 key to center my head relative to the VC position. Instead of using the keyboard, I'd like to program a button on either the joystick or throttle. I tried FSUIPC (registered version)--the menu where you assign a button/switch to a keyboard selection, but when I hit F12, it didn't register as anything in FSUIPC so I couldn't set it. Any suggestions?ThanksRich Perry

Very easy. Open up your profile in the TrackIR software, then click on 'Hot Keys'. You can change it to anything you want (I have mine set to the mouse). This is assuming you're using the V4 software. V5 would probably have it in a different place but same idea.

Edit the fsuipc.ini in the modules folder with Notepad. If the fsuipc.cfg doesn't contain a button section, add the following lines<Buttons> where <> are square brackets!ButtonRepeat=20,100=CP0,0,K123,8Where "CP" stands for a button down, "0,0" is the button, here button 0 (1) on joystick 0 : change to the button number you want, ex. "0,5" is button 6 on joystick 0 the numbering starts by 0 for button 1. "K123" is the FSUIPC keyboard button code for F12, of coarse you have to define another key code of you programmed the TrackIR driver for an another key, and "8" is a flag for "normal" mode.Rgds,Hugo

HelloHere is where you assign keys to center, pause, precisionJust click on where it says mouse1 in my screenshot then press your joystick button. One tip is to assign your middle mouse click to the pause function , makes clicking on gauges much easier
