March 1, 201016 yr I started another thread but the topic moved on a bit, and I am making a new one so not to affect it.For those of you who have the Maddog (Leonardo/Coolsky - doesn't matter), I'm curious to hear where you fly most of the time? What airline?I like to recreate airline operations - for example with my ATR72, I fly Air Tahiti with the Tahiti X scenery. Do any of you do anything similar with the maddog? What scenery do you use?I am thinking UTX or GEX are a bit generic. I'd rather specific scenery. Thanks for any ideas,Andrew
March 1, 201016 yr Air Canada - 70's - '80's colours, Andrew. Vancouver - Victoria - Seattle - Portland and back, with Moses Lake for circuits and FTX PNW for scenery. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
March 1, 201016 yr Air Canada - 70's - '80's colours, Andrew. Vancouver - Victoria - Seattle - Portland and back, with Moses Lake for circuits and FTX PNW for scenery. Thanks Paul. That Canada livery available somewhere? That FTX scenery does look damned good, already on my wishlist.Anyone else care to share?
March 1, 201016 yr Altough you said "recreate" airlines operations, there's a great fictional Air Berlin livery availabe at the library made by Todd R. Fleck. You could try it, and maybe get "Aerosoft German Airports" or something like that.My most enjoyable experiences with the Maddog are in very short flights... It's awsome! March 1, 201016 yr I fly the maddog (Leonardo 2008) where it still flies in reality in Europe.Mostly Alitalia from Milan and Rome to various destinations. Also SAS from/to Stockholm and some Spanish holiday destinations with Spanair.Occasionally also some fictitious charters with Blue Line (a smart livery if you ask me). There is always an option to load a house colours variant and proudly show it anywhere in the world. :(
March 1, 201016 yr Usually from Copenhagen to various SAS MD-80 destinations in Europe (mostly those with good VATSIM coverage). I'm using UTX + GEX Europe, but for airline operations I think it is more important to have reasonably accurate airport addons. And REX, of course :( Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
March 2, 201016 yr American Airlines is based out of Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Go to flightaware.com and enter KDFW, it'll tell you everywhere their Maddogs fly to.Curt Curt Branch
March 2, 201016 yr As mentioned above, Delta also fly the M80 here in the US. One real flight that you might like is KDEN-KSLC (Kslc is their western hub). The flight is about an hour and across the Wasatch and Rocky Mountains. I think there is Mega Scenery for both areas and for some of the terrain in between. I live on the western side if the Denver metro area and often see these birds flying overhead. For longer flights, American fly M80's into KDEN too. I've seen 3 at one time, one from KLAX, one from KORD and one from KDFW. All of these flight are 2 hours+. I love this aircraft, fun and challenging to fly and it looks very cool with it's long cantilevered fuselage.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
March 2, 201016 yr Avsim Library, Kid: maddog_air_canada_80_s.zip - it's in FSX repaints if you search for Todd R Fleck.Yeah, DEN - SLC is also a good run, but it's not in the PNW, although that may not matter, as GEX 1.9 is now out. SEA - SLC is good, too. I like a commercial flight of about an hour, as it gives about fifteen minutes for scenery browsing, with actual flying/navigating padding up the rest. Fits in right after supper! :( i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
March 2, 201016 yr I fly a various mix of Delta/AA flights in the US. For giggles I fly out of florida going to TNCM or some other island chain to the south. The plane is a lot of fun no matter which one you like/have. I prefer short flights, doing hops of 45 minutes to 1.25 hours. So my flight normally do like Huntsville Al, Atlanta GA, Charleston , then into Regan. From there I either fly back to Huntsville or ATL, then to Dallas Fort Worth. That's my preferred route when I fly. It's a mix of AA and Delta flight plans old and new. Or if I'm bored I just look up and airport and see where the flights are going!
March 2, 201016 yr Most of you seem to fly in north America then, but I think I'd prefer Europe (well apart from the FTX Pacific NW scenery area!) Also, I am looking for sceneries, so as well as telling me where you fly please tell me what add-ons you are using! Thanks!
March 2, 201016 yr I fly the MD-80 in Colombia and countries nearby: Caracas, Venezuela; Quito, Ecuador; Panama City, Panama. Sometimes I do real routes to the US from Colombia: Cartagena to Miami and Barranquilla to New York.Best regards Ed OcampoStaff ReviewerAVSIM Online[email protected]Fly DC Jets
