FSX crash

Featured Replies

Hi,My fsx crashes while I fly. It really annoys me :( Can someone tell or recommend me something to make it not crash. Thanks guys :( Sean Averre

Based on the information you gave the best advice would be to not use FSX.Need to know pc spec, operating system, what scenery and plane addons you have, when it crashes I.e. Did you do anything? Typical reasons for a crash are listed below;- pc not powerful enough to run fsx- fsx settings too high therefore stressing you CPU- a bug exists that causes a crash when you select a menu. Installing ultimatecore.dll fixes this- could be a bug in an addon- could be your sound card, I now select the sound card in the settings instead of use the default setting.- You pc needs a clean up taking all unused software off and defragging it.The list goes onhave you set fsx up to nickn guide?Tell us as much as you cantom

And I might add that you need to check the Event Viewer on your system and see if there's an error message for the event. If so, it might show you a .dll or module that is causing the crash. This will help you troubleshoot the problem. If you are not familiar with the Event Viewer, go to Start, type EV in the search bar and look at the top of the menu and you should see Event Viewer. Click on this and on the left side click on Custom Views/Administrative Events then look for the error.Best regards,Jim

Can you extend the CPU just out of interest?

From my research, it might have to do with a new scenery layer causing a g3d.dll app crash. The solution for a few years has been to uninstall your video driver suite, reboot your 'pute, and then re-install the same or newer driver suite. Do not merely over-write. You must uninstall first. It seems that your driver suite gets corrupted over time and this causes the g3d.dll data library link to crash FSX.If you decide to give the above a try, let us know if it cured your crashes.Mitch
