March 4, 201016 yr This is for anyone that has either of these cards .Which video card you think is better for fs9 :( ? Currently, :( I own the 4870 ati 2048mb card. In the past I owned the 9800 gtx 2gb which for some reason got better frame rates :( then the ati card ,but did not have as vivid of a image as the ati :( . I want to go with nvidia once again since it supports 3d.Please, feel free to let me know what you think on this topic. Thanks :(
March 4, 201016 yr A GTX295 will not run FSX any better than a GTX285 so save your money and get the GTX285.Rod
March 4, 201016 yr The question was for fs9..but same applies. You won't seem much if any improvement between a 260 and the 285...let alone the 295 in fs9 as long as long you don't have some crazy resolution. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
March 4, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the relpys. :( I run fs9 @ 1920x1080.Which is my default screen res... :(
March 4, 201016 yr Thanks for the relpys. :( I run fs9 @ 1920x1080.Which is my default screen res... :(I recently tried a 260 and 275 (what I have now). I noticed VERY little change between the two...but significant change from my old 8800GTS 512MB. I'd stick with the 285. Also keep in mind that FS does not use cards in SLI, which is practically what the 295 is. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |

March 5, 201016 yr 295 has two GPU "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 5, 201016 yr Let "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 6, 201016 yr SLI is a marketing term which defines the use of two or more Nvidia GPUs to render a 3d scene. Since the GTX 295 uses two GPUs, it is using SLI. /end discussion

March 6, 201016 yr Yes. The graphics cards which have dual GPUs feature GPUs which are in some way reduced from their single GPU counterparts. In the case of the 295, it has fewer ROPs, TMUs, a narrower memory bus, less RAM (per GPU), and lower clock speeds all around compared to the 285.
March 6, 201016 yr I can really recommend the 285, and there "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
