To ORBX/FSX...a current customer statement...

John, I am just taking off from Olympia/PNW for a VFR sight-seeing cruise between 3,500-5,500 ft A.S.L.As I was waiting to take to the runway, I took the time to REALLY observe the ORBX 'world' you have created within PNW. From the wonderful efforts of you and your team, there is subtle color differences in the tree lines on the Evergreens; the fact that there is taller variants of wild grass on the airport greens, the cities/towns and their respective custom tiles. Your elevations and LandClass. All of the above...lets me firmly say that if you decide to cover North America, Central, and South America...oh heck..the WORLD, in the same attention to detail that you have done with the Pacific North West, then I as a current customer, WILL buy each package that comes out from your Studio. I truly want my simulated world to reflect in total what I have so far enjoyed with PNW.Here I was..sitting at the threshold, enjoying the treeline beyond the airport environs, and it was NOTHING...NOTHING to believe that this was as real as the pictures Geofa has posted to date. I could never say this until today. Take the bow, you and your team. This is a MILESTONE in flight simulation, or real-life simulation since someone thought to even bring 'flight' to a home computer system.I wish you much financial success and hope that you and your team pushes what can be done to the absolute limits! You have shown that you are not into the greed-factor, by releasing PNW at the $50.00 mark..and that with all marketing streams taking their cut. Do this...and I will populate my world, with YOUR world. You have a dedicated ORBX/FTX customer now on your hands. Great job; great product!Mitch (who lives within the Great Lakes Basin, hint, hint...nudge, nudge, lol! Uh er...Michigan would be really nice to ORBX around in....let alone the other adjoining Great Lake Basin states and provinces! (Nudge, nudge....(I'm smiling....nah...I have a really LARGE smile on the kisser flying over ORBX 'enhancements'.....) Congrats. POST EDIT: John, I was just thinking as I was flying over the Twin-Span Bridge that animated hot-air balloons with people waving would be a quite fun addition to any further updates/patches! Or campers with fires and BBQ's working away as you had with your Tasmania Demo. Even sea life, again, as per your Tasmania.... I am flying at 90 knots with flaps five to take in the detail. I love the fact that at intersections, you have traffic waiting in all directions. It's this attention to detail that would make it a crime to just BLITZ along at top knots, or be so high that you truly see nothing at all. THIS is what it should all have been about from the start! :))))))))))))))) YeeHaw!Mitch x2

Thanks Mitch, your enthusiasm about PNW seems to have no bounds! :)But I really must insist on deflecting your praise to Matt Tomkins and Holger Sandmann, the two leads on the project who really are the men responsible for this project. Sure, there was a larger team involved but those two guys gave us the pallette to work with. Thanks for the terrific feedback, we're chuffed!

Cheers,

Mitch, you inspire me. This is what I wrote elsewhere on the same subject. This is in answer to whether the FTX PNW was worth having in the Portland Or. area (edited).FSX is, well, fs9 improved, but was seriously flawed right from the beginning. That was then, this is now. Things have changed. The ORBX FTX rebuild, based on a highly developed FSX platform, is more like something we might have expected to come from MSFS12 or MSFS13 years from now. It is that far advanced. Price value? Are you kidding? Over 450 upgraded and corrected airports, over countless square miles of highly simulated hand built reality! The detail and accuracy of the FTX PNW far surpasses the rest of the non FTX sceneries available worldwide, combined. You simply can't buy anything that even compares favourably with it. You want Portland? You got Portland, a light years ahead rendition that exceeds your most vivid imagination. A flight from Troutdale to the Dales is so real you may have to pinch yourself. Why eat dog food on the floor when a buffet is on the table right in front of you? Is this a wild exaggeration? Certainly not! Ask anyone who has been spoiled by FTX, first in Australia, and now here at home in Canada and the USA. Listen to what they say, not those whose best interest it is to mitigate, blunt and otherwise do what it takes to try to limit the impact ORBX is making in the post-Aces flight simulation world. The ORBX company products, right here, and right now, is the giant leap forward that we have been waiting decades for in the flight simulation community. Because of their technological advances there is finally a flight sim that could possibly unite part of the different flight sim communities. Many, some screaming and swearing, but many nevertheless, are discovering that this FTX breakthrough provides the reason they were looking for to put the past in their past, and to join the present to help fund and build the future of flight simming. Will it last forever, of course not, but don't bother looking elsewhere anytime soon.Spirit Flyer

Mitch,If you don't have the Australia DVD and some of the airports, you are missing a lot of beautiful VFR flying.

+1If you don't have any of the Australian stuff your missing out. I was a tubliner guy until I flew with FTX, I have a PPL in the real-world and this just changed everything about my simming, its really hard to fly over UTX and GEX now, seriously.

-------------------------------------------------Hi Dean, Yes I do. I have GEX North America, Europe and both UTX's.GEX 1.09 really made the Sonoran Desert quite a thing. :)Mitch

--------------------------------------------------Then John, I fully acknowledge both Matt and Holger for giving us such a wonderful and life-like virtual world to fly over. Most excellent, and looking forward to other North American delights....Cheers, all!Mitch

-----------------------------------------------------------As you know, everybody LOVES to fly over their own 'back yard', lol. But....I might just spring for what you suggest. I do have the Tasmania Demo and have taken quite a few screenies with it.Cheers!Mitch
