March 26, 201016 yr Author Dan,I also would be interested in getting that AC 777-300ER dvd. Let me know if it's any good.ThanksVicHey Vic, Sorry for the late reply, but I had a busy couple weeks and just got a chance to watch this one last night. It was great! Very indepth look at the instruments and route with three different flights to watch.Toronto to TokyoTokyo to TorontoToronto to FrankfurtGreat look at all the systems with some really nice views out of the cockpit, to include passing another Air Canada flight at FL370 that was pretty cool. This DVD is probably the newest one in my collection, meaning it was only recorded last year. It's also the only video I have that shows you the selcal checks when using the HF freq which is pretty cool to watch and hear how bad the HF comms are between ATC and pilots. The only negative thing is the same problem with a lot of these style videos where they do record all the ATC chatter. That in itself is a plus of course, but I wish they would record the ATC sounds on seperate tracks to allow editing them before release. There are times that the pilot or 1st officer will be explain something you want to hear to only be tuned out by ATC chatter. It's kinda leaves you with the feeling of watching a great band perform only to hear the drummer is under Mic'd :(Other than that, it's a superb addition to my collection and highly recommend it. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
March 26, 201016 yr Author Haha, thanks Rick, Not sure how that happened. I never clicked it twice but am rendering a DVD (for the last 3 hours now) which probably helped cause a hiccup. Since I have this duplicate post, I guess I'll add one more thing. The second flight from Tokyo to Toronto is pretty sweet! It's at dusk and the illumation in and out of the cockpit is awesome. It is in heavy rains also during some heavy flooding last year in Japan. Pretty cool to be witnessing one of the storms that caused it. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

September 30, 201015 yr
No "Airplane"? Cmon!

On a serious note, the show "Air Crash Investigation" (aka "Mayday") done by National Geographic is surprisingly good in most cases. Despite the morbid nature of the topic, I've always found crash investigation pretty fascinating, especially on some of the more bizarre accidents where they're still able to piece together what actually happened.

i changed my TV provider a couple of months ago and got discovery channel, nat geo, and ESPN America (NFL YEAHAA) and indeed i like mayday, as there are pretty interesting things in it. My dad is a mechanic for our C130 Hercs in Austria and we do talk a lot about some things that happen in aircrafts.

As for the Topic:

when i was waiting at Munich Airport i bought myself the PilotsEye Austrian Airlines 777 from Vienna to Tokyo-Narita and back (and forgot to bring my dvd drive for the laptop). Great picutres, great quality, the explanations about the flight systems in the 777 is fairly basic, but i was expecting that...

All the best from Austria,

Alex Best regards,
