March 14, 201016 yr I've got both but would like to uninstall FSX without impacting FS9--what's the best way to do it? Do I need to repair the FS9 registry after uninstalling FSX? As a side note, I run FSX in DX10 and have GEX, UTX, ASA, REX. I run nhancer for both FSX and FS9. I don't really use FSX that much anymore--mainly for limited VFR...so I'd like to free up some HD space.ThanksRich PerryIntel i7 Extreme Edition 965 (oc'd 3.8Ghz)Nvidia GTX 285 (2GB)OCZ 6GB DDR3 1800MhzRaptor 10000rpm HDSB Xi ExtremeWindows Vista Pro 64bit
March 15, 201016 yr Author I uninstalled FSX last night after reading several related posts here and other simfori. Long story short is was successful. Here's the order:1) Uninstall all FSX related addons--from control panel--remove2) Reboot3) Uninstall FSX acceleration...which is the only FSX icon thing that shows in control panel remove menu4) Reboot5) Delete FSX folder from wherever you've got it parked...mine was on C:/6) Run registry repair (this is a payware program but there are many others out there)--it yielded over 2500 errors--took 45mins to repair7) Reboot8) Run a thorough defrag (I use O/O defrag)9) RebootGood to go.RP
March 15, 201016 yr I uninstalled FSX a couple of times without hurting FS9 with tons of addons, complex planes and sceneries. The best and easiest cure for fixing FS9 registry is to run AFCAD, navigate it manually to FS2004 directory, close AFCAD and run it again. By doing that, you will automatically restore FS9 registry. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

Simple and effective.
