March 24, 201016 yr Commercial Member Ah... Blake, the mobile chips don't have the same capabilities as the desktop cards. There's a pretty good chance your chip isn't capable of doing these settings we're talking about. In fact I probably wouldn't use 8XS anyway with an 8400M, it would slow down a ton. The 8400 is pretty far below the desktop cards most people are using. You can try updating the drivers here:http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-usSelect GeForce 8M series and your OS and it'll give you the download link. If you can get updated to a reasonably recent driver, you can use the newest nHancer and see if you're still getting the issue. March 24, 201016 yr Does nHancer automatically apply the new values when I exit? The reason I ask is because I have reset AA to 8xS and AF to 16x, but I can't really see any difference on my system. Also, when I untick the AA box in the FSX Settings menu, I get the dreaded "jaggies" on polygons in the distance (hill slopes etc).Am I missing something? I believe you have to leave it running while simming otherwise it won't work Leonardo Soares
March 24, 201016 yr Well, I was going to say that it appears to have "kicked in" without leaving it running, and without unticking the "AA" box in the FSX Menu. The white runway centreline markings that can be seen at some grass strips are now much clearer (both near and far), so I have certainly changed something! March 25, 201016 yr Commercial Member You do NOT need to keep nHancer running - as I said before, it's editing profiles that the driver reads out of a file called nvapps.xml, the program is not doing any kind of real time control of the video card. It's a front end for editing that file, nothing else.As long as you make your changes before running FS, it should apply them when the driver detects FSX.exe being run.Christopher - that's probably the 16XAF doing that.
