Mesh for UK

Featured Replies

Hi all,I do a lot of flying around the UK and whilst I enjoy great scenery from UK2000 airports and GE Pro, I find the landsape is very flat. What is the best add-on to add proper mesh to the UK so it has some hills etc..I have looked at FSGenesis but its $80 so quite expensive, but is it the best or is it more for USA. Can anyone recommend anything good to give the UK some undulations? Thanks

Ok thanks, I will ahve a look. The FSGenesis I was looking at was 2010 edition. The one you mention is 2006, is it any good?thanks

This forum won't allow you to type replies with firefox...strange.Anyway, I tried the FSGenesis free mesh and it was horrible. Just horrible. It made the UK look like a desert with a few brown streaks I assumed were roads.A better UK mesh is available from FlightSim - ukmesh04.zipThere is another mesh on Flightsim in four parts I believe, I have never tried it though.Cheers,Dave

Hello FSGenesis has two worldwide mesh products one for FS9 and one for FSX, there is no 2006 or 2010 product as they are continually updatedhttp://www.fsgenesis.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNTYou can also buy each region separatelyAs for the difference between 2006 and 2010 I can assure you we have not gained any extra mountains here in the UK in the last four years so they will probably be the same :( The product you are thinking of is probably FSglobal 2010 which is for FSX and FS9http://www.fsim.net/fsglobal2010/indexA.htm

Hmmmm.... I am typing this in Firefox, do it all the time. Are you sure it was the mesh causing your issue? You can't "see" mesh.Mesh is like your skeleton, it creates hills and valleys. What you "see" is textures draped over the mesh. Those are defined by landclass, which is a different element than mesh.Hope this helps.regards,Joe
