I have my card ready for the new 737NG if it's for FS9.Can the rest of you also confirm if you are hoping for the same thing please? Remember they haven't guaranteed an FS9 version and this thread may help.

They guaranteed they would not make an FS9 version so no need to ask or start polls,my friend.JP Visser.

My freind, you need to read what Randazzo said http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=273567 here and not jump down my throat as soon as you see something that you didn't read properly!Quote: "So- once again, we will evaluate the future of FS2004 development as it relates to the 737NG2 in a few months".

I'm hoping they have been working to make this an FSX only product and havn't even been toying with an FS9 version. Making one product for two different platforms usually means catering to the lowest common denominator (FS9) which means gimping the FSX version in some way. I haven't made the jump to FSX yet but will the day the NGX is released. If they end up making what would essentially be two different products (though PMDG has said that it is doubtful at best), more power to them, but I will only be buying the FSX version.

This is basically saying that it will not be developed for fs9. They have publically stated that they made a LOSS on the fs9 MD-11, and judging by their decision to publish their latest product only for FSX, kind of shows you where they are headed. Doesn't take a genius to put the pieces together to see this.

Dave,Quote from Roberts message:This is a business decision, not an emotional one, and we will not discuss the decision making process publicly other than to say that the final decision will be rendered based upon our own sales and cost data.As Robert has mentioned in his thread this is going to be a business decision for PMDG based upon the market data available to the company. The thread was locked for a reason. IMHO everything that needs to be said on the topic has been discussed. I believe Robert and the team have made it very clear that further forum discussions will not be considered in PMDG's decision. Most of these posts have been deleted so I would suggest everyone let this one go and end the discussion here.

This does seem to pop up on occasion, how about saving yourselves a lot of noise by copying said announcement on the matter into a pinned thread? Just for the ones with "search button allergy". :(

The word Evaluate doesen't neccaserily mean No. Means it has not been ruled out. So, show me where it says otherwise please? Does 'Evaluate' mean no in the U.S. maybe?

Last post for me on this topic. Dave you have been around these forums for a long time and know that we treat each other with respect here. I humbly suggest that continued behavior like this will most likely end in deleted posts or worse sanctions by one of the Moderators. As Robert's posts have stated the "evaluation" will be done based on PMDG's market data. These types of discussions in the forum will have no influence on the decision. IMHO this is what Robert was attempting to communicate when he stated that this will not be an emotional decision but one made based on the hard facts described by the economic data PMDG has access to.Again, I would suggest that further discussion will most likely get this post deleted. IMHO your questions have been asked and fully answered so I am ducking back under my rock. :(

George, I wasn't inviting criticism, I was merely asking for support for an Fs9 version but, as is now getting more and more on the Avsim forums, there are people here that scour these columns for something to pick holes in.I am considering leaving Avsim due to this. It's not the freindly place it was, when I first joined many years ago.

It's sad that you're leaving because of that. I tend to either ignore or report impolite posts. Do I understand you correctly when your intention with this post was to find out how many wanted to buy the NGX if it came out for FS9? Because I think that that won't be enough to persuade PMDG to go ahead with such a project, as far as I've gathered I think they're gonna base it on current FS9 sales trends for their latest (or last?)FS9 offerings, the 744 and MD-11. Perhaps they'll do a survey of some sort at one point, once they've reached the point when they absolutely have to make that decision. And they're not there quite yet it would seem. I don't think that basing business decisions on single posts like this will alter their minds. Perhaps an official poll here and/or on their website and other popular FS sites or something will. You won't find out by leaving.

Dave, i understand the term 'evaluate'. i am mearly suggesting that judging by what PMDG have said and by what they did with their latest product it isnt hard for one to make an educated guess about future products.

Dave, you are a long standing member of Avsim and I hope you decide not to leave. I was under the impression that you had been following the history of threads on this specific subject. As you can see it is has become a fairly provocative topic. I am concluding from your response that it is possible that you may not have seen the plethora of posts in the General Forum on this very topic, so I would like to humbly summarize the issue. The reason for Robert's post was in response to the threads similar to yours asking for support for an FS9 version. These threads were popping up in the General PMDG Forum and were very quickly going out of control. Many were just deleted. Robert quickly stepped in to stop the spin and chaos and summarized PMDG's official position on the subject. This is the pinned thread in the General Forum. As a new post appears, the thread is typically responded to with a brief answer with the intent to complete the discussion before the attention of a Forum Moderator is needed. :( I hope this better explains the intent of the responses. :(

This topic is not up for debate. It has been covered ad nauseam for the last year and we have nothing else to add on it.
