May 1, 201016 yr How do I fix this bug? It appears everywhere all the time:You see that white thing in the bottom? It looks like a fuel leak but it's 10 meters under the plane! It happens when you are flying in precipitation rain or snow. I mostly see it in snow myself. There is no fix that I know of. May 1, 201016 yr Moderator I will get that every now and then, but not always. I never noticed that until one day I was taking some screen shots and saw the vapor trail about 15 to 20 feet below the plane. I was wondering what the heck it was, so I exited the flight and rebooted the same flight again in the same conditions and it was gone. I guess it was just one of those things that happens every now and then.Another weird thing that happens to me once in a while is that the taxi spray will continue even after I am not moving and shut the a/c off.Guess we just have to live with it, not really a big deal to me unless I am try to take a series of screen shots. May 1, 201016 yr Try turning smoke on and off and see if it has any affect.Could be wheel dusk or engine exhaust displayed in the wrong place.
May 1, 201016 yr As McCrash says, it's probably an effect activated from the config file that is in the wrong location, so you could probably correct it by altering the coordinates of that effect in the aircraft's config file. The Alphasim B24 had a similar issue for me, with the engine exhaust smoke being up too high on mine in FSX.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 1, 201016 yr Commercial Member The effect in question is "fx_WetEngineWash.fx" in your FSX/Effects folder. As its name suggests, it's the jet wash effect that plays whenever you throttle up on a wet runway, but unfortunately it doesn't always turn off. It happens most often if you take off in an area without rain and land in an area with it, and then continue your flight.Renaming that file or removing it from the effects folder will cure the issue. You'll still have spray from the wheels on a wet runway, but they don't cause any issues.Hope that helps. :)Cheers,-Mike Mike Johnson - Lotus Simulations
May 1, 201016 yr It happens with every plane every flight every condition exept for gliders and Missions.
May 1, 201016 yr Happens here to occasionally. I was thinking, as the jet-wash normally shows up behind the centre of the fuselage (With the default 747-400 for example.) Would it be to difficult to put in four of them, one behind each engine.? :(
