May 9, 201016 yr Mateusz Is there anyway to get FS9 ATC to give me R29 for takeoff and not just R33?Pozdrawiam. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
May 9, 201016 yr Mateusz Is there anyway to get FS9 ATC to give me R29 for takeoff and not just R33?Pozdrawiam.Sure, Gavin. It can be done by "tying" the runways using the xwind technique via Afcad. Since the runway courses are close it's fairly easy in EPWA's case. However, considering the runway layout (crossing), it might be ugly with AI running into each other.Or, you can close 15-33 for take-offs and landings, this way only 11-29 will be in use.Hope this helps Onur K. Guess I'm pushing my luck a bit there ;-) One problem I'm having is that AI can't takeoff from R33 as they stop before they come into FS9's ATC range, so they just sit there and block everything. One other thing, is there any way to remove the vehicle lights we see at night? Please don't think I'm being ungrateful in any way at all. This is great freeware and I'm very grateful for it :( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

This is great freeware and I'm very grateful for it :(Not being ungrateful at all, I see exactly your point and besides, FS gets better with tweaking. I with you on the scenery being great, it absolutely is and I admire the generosity of the contributors to our hobby. :( I knew version 1 had a couple of flaws in the AF2 and I thought they might be corrected in the latest version. I just opened up the AF2 file and apparentely it needs a few corrections especially in the hold-short node departement, (AI getting getting stuck)Like I said before, you can get both runways to work but it might not look good AI wise. I don't know how to get rid of the vehicle lights, the author posts in the thread so I suppose he'll chime in on that. It's getting late now so hopefully I'll try to do some experimenting with the Af2 file tomorrow (and I'm going to watch part 4 of the new series The Pacific tonight!). I'll post the results here. :( Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...

May 10, 201016 yr Thanks Onur, I know nothing about modifying AF2 files and end up relying on the kindness and generosity of others. Hope you enjoyed the TV show last night :-)Oh, I did! :( The Pacific is cool but I'd say Tom Hanks' previous series, The Band of Brothers was better.Ok then, after some testing, I can say that it is possible to use both runways simultaneously. I also corrected the hold-short nodes to prevent AI from getting stuck. I set a a moderate northwestern wind and AI performed take-offs from 29 and landings on 33 without a problem. However, the best solution in my opinion for EPWA is to have 2 separate AF2 files, one used with northerly winds and another to be used in case of southerly winds. You can just rename the extension of the unused one to .bak.If you prefer to use only one AF2 file, then, I find it's best to close 11-29 and use only 15-33. Of course, you can keep both runways open for take-offs and landings. It's all a matter of personal choice. But both runways can be used simultaneously. That's how I will use EPWA in my simming. The scenery is excellent visually and performance wise.Just send me a PM and I'll send you the af2 file. Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
May 10, 201016 yr I finally tried this out, I wanted to do that eversince I processed the file but there was just no time. Its good and detailed, and its not heavy on the framerates either - very fluent. When I fly to or around Poland I usually go to Gdansk, Mielec, Poznan and Goraszka as there's some very good freeware scenery available for those areas. Now I'll be paying visits to Warsaw as well. Thanks to Mateusz - the author of this new EPWA scenery! and for updating it so quickly. ................By the way, the scenery merges nicely with some other Warsaw addons: payware Warsaw Photo Scenery and freeware Ursynow...................It does work good with the freeware Ursynow. People can try it as well, even if they do not have the payware Warsaw photoscenery it was meant for. Its file:Warsaw - Ursynow 3D Scenery for WPS ver. 2.0Download ID: 130010Filename: warsawurs3d.zipfrom the library. I know it says its for FSX and needs the payware photoscenery, but I've tested it out and it works fine in FS9 and without the payware (as I do not have this). It adds a little variety to the area, obviously it would look a lot better with the payware Warsaw photoscenery but I think its still worth trying it out. If you do not own the payware simply do not install the WPS folder in the zip. It includes mostly lots of flat blocks and some gigantic stores, including a TESCO - scenery looks pretty interesting from high up.You can add the Ursynow scenery and texture files in the Warsaw EPWA folder instead of making another entry in Addon Scenery.

Must check out The Pacific though. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

May 11, 201016 yr I'd be glad to publish it, Mateusz, as long as you're ok. Be aware though, it is no where near perfect, just a couple of corrections, that's all. It's not perfect and I want to do some more testing before I upload it here. Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
May 12, 201016 yr Just finishing up my own Afcad for this great new freeware scenery. Thank you! There are some issues though, see capture. Three floating lightpoles that follow the user around like Mona Lisa's smile. ;D And some flatten/bleedthrough problems, also visible there to a certain extent. Is there a flatten somewhere in the scenery files? May 13, 201016 yr Thanks, that does the trick.:( One other thing, autogen. It is not as tight around the aiport as I'd like. Would it be possible to bring the autogen a bit closer to the aiport by changing the exclude? Or perhaps some autogen needs to be re-added, I'm not sure what works best.Other than that, it really is great stuff!:( Mike...
