May 24, 201016 yr Hi there,Been away a long time, so long my account here was deleted! Pesky job in the middle of the sea, you see :).Anyway, I have seen all these fantastic new add on's by PMDG, such as the MD-11 but what I wondered was if there where any classic airliners available of the same quality? By that I mean L1011s, 747-200s, 727s or A300s. The RFP 747 (now freeware) is a bit dated, and I know dreamfleet have their old 727, but is there anything else, or anything recent that is to the PMDG standard? Thanks then!Richard
May 24, 201016 yr Among the best classic airliners for FS would be the: Aerosoft (SimCheck) Airbus A300, SkySim DC-9, Captain Sim B727, CLS B747-200/300.Not all of the above go absolutely mental on obsessive systems emulation, but generally speaking, they will please someone who likes to fly realistically.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 25, 201016 yr I have a few more: the CLS 747-200, the Concorde X by FlightSim Labs, the 747SP by Aerosim. For freeware aircraft, you might wanna check the HJG website. They have a 747-full library of classical freeware aircraft, such as the DC-8, the 707, the 727, the CV880/990, the Caravelle, the BAe/Avro RJ85, and last but not least, the DC-9. May 25, 201016 yr The FlightSim Labs ConcordeX is incredible, but has a very steep learning curve, and because of it's speed, everything happens quickly making it more difficult to stay ahead of the aircraft. Shane Gavin

There's some pretty good Cessna's out there. And most are freeware.Mitch
May 25, 201016 yr Author Thanks again for the replies. Yes the more complex the systems the better as I love realism, and the reason I like fight sims so much is getting around all the complex systems. An add on with a full FE panel is really what I am after to play with all the systems.I used to own the PSS concorde for FS9.How realistic is the Simlabs concorde X? The screenshots look amazing but there is little information on what is actually simulated. How much of their FE panel works and to what level? Maybe the better question would be - what is not simulated? I have the full real world concorde flight manual on CD, so it would be great to be able to use it in conjunction with a product realistic enough!thanks for your help!
May 27, 201016 yr Not from your list but looks like to be one of the most promising upcoming releases: http://www.captainsim.com/products/x707/ . Regards,Stan

Everything that can work within FSX limitations works. They even simulated brake fires. One thing though, to keep the frame rates acceptable, the engineer's panel is modeled in 3D, but to operate it from the VC you click on the section you need to operate and a 2D version pops up, or you can do the same with key commands. Some, or all (not sure) of the PSS Concorde developers were part of the development team. Shane Gavin
May 27, 201016 yr Hi Richard, if your using FSX, stay under 300 knots. There's some pretty good Cessna's out there. And most are freeware. And why does he have to stay under 300 knots? Sounds like a trollish statement to me... :(If you limit yourself to Cessnas in FSX you'll be missing out on a whole lot of really nice aircraft. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
May 28, 201016 yr Commercial Member Some, or all (not sure) of the PSS Concorde developers were part of the development team. Not from PSS. Perhaps you were thinking of the SSTSIM Concorde, of which myself a few of the other developers also worked on Concorde-X. Nice to hear you're enjoying the aircraft in FSX :) Andrew Wilson
