May 30, 201016 yr Hi,I recently bought Creative Fatal1ty headset to use microphone switch button to communicate with ATC by Squawkbox. Previously I setup END keyboard's button as PTT but that did not allow me to use both hands to fly aircraft and move it on the ground. Now, having the micro switch button I would like to use it as PTT with two hands available for flying but I am not able, no communication out. Is it possible to use this switch to communicate ATC by Squawkbox or not? Thanks bye.RR Capt. RICCARDO RIGHETTIProud customer of the PMDG 737NGX and PMDG 777X (wating for next... June 3, 201016 yr Author Rick-Do you still need a step-by-step on how to assign a yoke button as PTT? Email or Private message me.Hi Alex and many thanks for your interest, but I need to clarify my post. I should not setup a yoke button as PTT, but simply the microphone's switch available longside haeadset cable. There is a ON/OFF switch to turn on/off microphone. I would like to know if possible use it as PTT.Thanks, bye.RR Capt. RICCARDO RIGHETTIProud customer of the PMDG 737NGX and PMDG 777X (wating for next... June 4, 201016 yr Rick-Ahhh ok. I don't think that's possible though, unless FSUIPC recognizes that button on your headphones as a click in Flight Simulator, but maybe someone else has a solution. Why don't you just use a button on your yoke? Talk about hands-free!Cheers! Why don't you just use a button on your yoke? Talk about hands-free!Cheers!Hi, well, at this time I am not using yoke, but in the future yes. Anyway, If I have to push continuosly a button to talk ATC (either on the keyboard or yoke) I cannot use two hands to move aircraft on the ground or to fly it when airborne but I have to use only one because the other is focused on PTT button, that's simply. While, switching the button ON I could speak with the controller and use both hands to fly or move the aircraft. Thanks, bye.RR Capt. June 5, 201015 yr Rick-I can't believe in 2010, you're still flying with the keyboard. Is that choice or necessity? PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
June 5, 201015 yr Rick,The switch you mention on your headset is just associated with your headset. FS9 will not recognize anything that is not a controller hooked up via USB... todays standard or the old school type.. game port. I would also HIGHLY recommend getting a flight yoke and rudder controllers. CH Products or Saitek are the two most popular brands and sell for approx $129.00-$159.00 new. I can't remember what my rudders cost as they have never needed replacing as much as my yoke has. I've gone through 3 of them over the past few years with the insane amount of hours I've put them through. You most likely can find a good price on ebay or amazon as there are always good deals out there if you look enough. Anyway, good luck with the PT button. Hope I was helpful to you.
