FMS Not Working

Featured Replies

If you are communicating with support as the result of your trouble ticket, I recommend you follow their instructions and provide the information they need to fix your problem. This forum is a good resource but I think it best to ride one horse at a time.

Tried the tutorial again this afternoon, and the FMS would not turn on as usual. This is really starting to get on my nerves. :(
I am also very frustrated after having the same problems and trying all things such as reinstalling the JS4100, then reinstalling FSX SP2 and all other things. I too am at my wits end. The plane was working when I last flew it two weeks ago. the only difference between then and now is that I have insatled some South Arican scenery. Otherwise nothing changed and the Plane's FMS just will not switch on. Very frustrating considering that it worked and now it just will not.Is there anybody with a solution that really works and not just something that they hit on by luck? What is PMDG saying about this? Seetella Makhetha

As in other thread, if everything fails, I'd suggest clean FSX+SP+JS41 installation over fresh and clean Windows. You can that way eliminate possible causes one by one. It's hardcore solution but simple, some problems might be caused by .cfg tweaks, other by corrupted data in registry etc. You should of course submit Your tickets to PMDG, but personally I wouldn't waste whole weekend waiting, I enjoy my JS41 very much and I would fight for it... ;) On the other hand, You don't really need FMC to fly precisely, although You paid for it and it's there for a reason so it should work.

I have all the updates/patches installed but the FMS is very intermittent. I have had no lick tonight and the unit just remains blank with no power. Any ideas ? ThanksRichard
Richard, Do you have the ultralight aircraft as the default flight when FSX starts up? I have been working with the PMDG team about this and the problem could be the default aircraft. Make sure the ultralight default flight is loaded when starting FSX and then start the default flight, once it is loaded, then load your saved J41 flight and see if this has any affect.

Yes, default is ultralight at Friday Harbour and this is loaded. The only change I have made is that I have installed Orbx PNW scenery. Could this be an issue ? FMS did used to be erratic but now wont work at all.ThanksRichard

Richard, The thing I recommend is go to the PMDG site and make out a trouble ticket. Those guys were great in the help they gave, especiallly about the default flight load, and I haven't had any problems since.
