Hello fellers...I got my rig tuned to run 25fps flat with A2A a/c.However, everytime I get near an addon airport my frames drop slightly. What's the best way to tune FSX.cfg to maintain 25pfs through out? Also, what's the best settup for these two:JobScheduelerAffinityMask[MAIN]FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTIONI'm running a E4600 2.4Ghz dual core 2 & GForce 9800GT 512mbHope you guys can help.

Hi - I don't think you can run AffinityMask unless you have an i7 processor. Here is something I posted earlier. There are numerous post's regarding FSX setup combined with nHancer settings and the like.

Will those settings benefit my hardware setup?

Yes I think they would, especially the highmem fix as mentioned in a post before mine. You should read a few threads, especailly the one I pointed you to before you play with the settings.

AffinityMask is only useful for quad core processors, so do not use.FFTF may help with blurry textures, but losing performance near addon airportsis normal, unfortunately... best thing you can do, is overclock your processor so you get closer to 3+ Ghz.Ignore all the info about fsx.cfg edits - most of it is snake-oil, or only usefulfor high end rigs..

So I was originall using Bjotes CFG file and was getting incrediable results. Overtime I installed a few planes, Megascenery, 3W5, PNW patch and noticed after the 3W5 install that my performance dropped. I went into the FSX config file and noticed that the job scheduler and affininity mask and a handful of other files where altered or added. I saved that config file to the desktop and reloaded Bjotes cfg file. So as the flight started on the ground, I noticed how much faster my Trackir was. Taxing through the grass at Concrete the Ezdok was making the plane bump and jostle like it was real. Cranking down the runway and taking off, my jaw hit the floor on how fast the perception was that I was really doing 90knots. I flew around enjoying 45fps and the effects that Ezdok where making on the plane. Im guessing that megascenery is the one that changes some cfg files. My Q9650 is at 3.66Ghz and the affinity mask 12 works wonders on my rig.

Exactly how I feel about it - I use AM=14 on an i7 @4.2oc.jja

Just out of interest I would recommend you fly around with the the FPS limiter set to UNLIMITED and see what kind of performance you get. You can then eyeball the average and then limit it to that +5FPS

I would suggest trying the HIGHMEMFIX tweak by Bojote. Here are some posts about tweaking --> http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=282006
