I bought FSpassenger years ago,here we are in 2014 and I still love it. With the revitalization of FSX through Prepar3d, I keep hoping for a newer version of the program but to no avail.

 

Can someone recommend a similar product that achieves at least 60% of what FSPassenger does?

 

And/or has anyone gotten FSpassenger working on any version of Prepar3d?

 

I don't know why the developer abandoned this program. There is very strong demand. 

I share the same sentiment too, I am hoping to use FSpax in P3D 2.2 as I just started on P3D recently. I have ported over  FSpax to P3D including adding the dll to dll.xml of P3D. I get it to run when i started P3D but Fspax detected i am not running FSX sp1 or sp2. So this is the only obsticle I am facing now. If only this detection of Fsx sp1 and Sp2 could be disabled, i believe there is a chance that Fspax can run in P3D nicely. Of course I am hoping everyday that Dan the developer would get back to business and do a patch for P3D, and I dont  mind paying for the patch. ...

I think FSCaptain (http://www.fscaptain.net/) is the only one. It's a good program and it keeps getting better. The developers are always adding new features and fixing bugs. They also have an active website forum and are on this forum too. If you want to try it, they have a demo version.

I have downloaded Fscaptain trial and is stuck at getting one of my payware plane to work. Fscaptain keep listing the payware plane as unlisted due to ATC_ID blank or undefined. I went on to add a ATC_ID in the aircraft.cfg, but it is still apeared as unlisted in the FScaptain adminitration. :(

FSC  have a forum, and support is excellent. And there is a P3D forum as well here at Avsim, so you may get tips about FSPax on there.

You can manually add the FS Captain entries to the aircraft's panel.cfg. Just copy them from a working aircraft and change the window numbers appropriately (additional entry in the window list, window definition and FDR gauge). See the FSC manual for details.

 

Make a backup of the panel.cfg first, just in case ...

 

Then load the aircraft into your flight situation, switch on the FS Captain CDU - now the entry in the FSC Administrator should be there.

I only seen a video in utube that show the Xpax features.

 

Here are my list of information I know about Xpax, FspassengerX and FScaptain.

Anyone have used the 3 packages above please fill in anything that I might missed out or I am not sure.

FspassengerX ( Fs9/FSX compatible)

 

1. Flight Assignment - This is free flow as in you choose to fly any where you like.

2. Economy system- you are the arline manager and pilot, and you can hire new virtual pilots, buy & sell planes, aircraft repair and maintainence(good maintenance can avoid high chance of failure)

3. Pilot rating & ranking

4. Emergency simulation - Random aircraft instrument failures, blown tire, water landing (yes you can ditch and float on water), bird strike, medical. warzone ground fire,etc

5. Passenger, cabin crews and co-pilot (reacts to flight sutuation, simulated through audio only)

6. Fuel and loads management

7. Flight time punctuality - You get more points if you can land within the intended time of arrival you set. Points help you to level up to next pilot ranking, thus enable you to fly planes with higher MTOW.

8. Inflight music, meals, movie playback

 

 

Xpax ( Fs9/Fsx compatible)

 

1. Passenger, cabin crews - Audio with video sequence for passenger cabin scene during boarding and unboarding.

 

** Pretty nice video concept, voice anouncement nicely produced.

 

Question : Wondering how many videos are there? if the same video keep playing for all flights, it can get a little bored.

 

 

FScaptain (FS9/FSX/p3D Compatible)

Apparently, cant really compare Xpax with Fscaptain or FSpassengerX.

 

Fscaptain comes close to FSpassengerX and FScaptain could be my choice for P3D if FSpasengerX is confirmed no way to work with P3D.

Thks, I have not tried this step, that is to load the payware plane at the airport and check FSC Administrator.

The demo should have included an Installer (FS Captain FCOM installer) to load the program panel into any airplane that you have. The best idea is to try it in the default 737 first. That said, I thought the newer version can be run from outside FSX and didn't require installing it for each airplane.

 

Also, make sure you run FSX as the administrator.
