August 3, 201015 yr I was wondering that since the J41 was a testbed for new VC development techniques and worked out so well for the PMDG team, it did certainly take its toll on performance with users with i7 setups, such as mine.My question is: will the new NGX perform worse, similar or better than the J41 even though the same techniques were used in the modeling, texturing and overall development of the virtual cockpit? Erik L.
August 4, 201015 yr PMDG has stated that they aim to improve performance with every release. I just because the JS41 was a "testbed" doesn't mean they won't improve upon the techniques used. Joe Sherrill
August 4, 201015 yr To put it simply, it will be alot better than the MD-11. and if your a captain for that bird then youll know how much of a good thing that is. :(
August 4, 201015 yr To put it simply, it will be alot better than the MD-11. and if your a captain for that bird then youll know how much of a good thing that is. :(I get great performance from the MD-11, better than the J41 infact. Performance (frame rate) being a lot better than the MD-11 is something I would have to see to believe. Jay Vorkapic

Performance (frame rate) being a lot better than the MD-11 is something I would have to see to believe. The technologys changed alot since they laubched the md-11, and they work more efficiently so you will enjoy the NGX quite a bit :(

Performance (frame rate) being a lot better than the MD-11 is something I would have to see to believe.Same here. I'd be very happy if it performed as well as the MD-11. My computer just doesn't seem to like the J41... Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
August 5, 201015 yr The j-41 is heavy on performance, on my setup I get 11-12 fps (still silky smooth) at katl 18-20 in the md-11 so if the ngx matched or betters the md i will be very very happyI expect it to be better than jetstream as it was a testbed an probebley was not made in the most efficiant ways due to it been new territory for the developers
August 6, 201015 yr Same here. I'd be very happy if it performed as well as the MD-11. My computer just doesn't seem to like the J41...Ya but the J41's VC is a lot nicer imo...David Di Domizio David
August 7, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-Currently, the ALPHA version of the 737NGX is outperforming any product that we have released to date.We still have a few heavy items to add to the airplane- but as of now we are very pleased with the benchmarks and are optimistic that the final version will be substantially better performing than even the MD-11...Just to nip the next question in the bud: No- we won't give you numbers data yet because it is bound to change- and then you know what will happen next... :( Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
August 7, 201015 yr Author Many thanks for that answer, Robert. It sure helps to know that we don't have to blow out extra cash for new computer parts if this bird will outperform the MD-11. Erik L.
August 7, 201015 yr Hi Robert,ALPHA is just before BETA right? Can you give us a rough time frame on how long before beta will be?

To go further..... well.. Jay Vorkapic
August 7, 201015 yr Gents-Currently, the ALPHA version of the 737NGX is outperforming any product that we have released to date. You mean FSX products right? Cause it outperforms the B1900 on FS9 I will officially be impressed :(On a serious note, that is exemplary news. If you don't mind me asking, what are the "heavy" items that still need to be added?
