August 6, 201015 yr Can someone be kind enough to explain this to me. Let me explain.I live in Melbourne Australia. As I understand it Melbourne time is UTC(zulu) + 10 hours. OK then why on the screenshot below is the time difference UTC + 9 hours. If the time in Melbourne is 1305 why is the GMT 0405 and not 0305?Andrew Dixon Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
August 6, 201015 yr Author I believe UTC doesn't account for day light savings timeWinter in Australia no daylight savings at the moment, this is what I don't understand. If there was it would be 1400 not 1300. UTC time is the same around the world so why is FSX out of synch in Melbourne where there is no daylight savings at the moment? Remember this shows Melbourne +9 UTC when in fact it should be +10 UTC.??????? :( :( Andrew Dixon Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
August 6, 201015 yr I'd just say that the developers in Seattle don't really care about a litle place called Melbourne way down south in aus, where only a handful of world wide sales will take place. But it's only a small error in a computer program and dosent effect our flights to badly

August 6, 201015 yr My FSX shows YMML time as UTC + 10. PC clock synchronized with Internet time and DST option selected. Regards, Opher Ben Peretz
August 6, 201015 yr Author My FSX shows YMML time as UTC + 10. August 6, 201015 yr Strange, I remember seeing it before (or thought I did), but can't find any option in FSX. I'm pretty sure I've seen it. Just out of curiosity, do you have the correct time zone set in windows? If windows Vista or 7 double click your system clock, then choose "Change Time Zone" and make sure it's set to the correct setting since it's different than just being time synced. If XP, then the Change time zone option I believe was one of the tabs of the Date and Time window. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
August 6, 201015 yr Author My PC time settings are all perfect. The problem is how I reset the time synch IN FSX. The difference should be +10 UTC in Melbourne. This time problem also affects all locations , the clock sync of local time and GMT is out 1 hour at any location. Is there a fix for this.Andrew Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
August 6, 201015 yr Control Panel->Date & Time->change time zone. My PC is synchronized with internet time but what and how do you select the DST option?ThanksAndrew Regards, Opher Ben Peretz
August 6, 201015 yr Author Control Panel->Date & Time->change time zone.GMT+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney is my PC time settings. All is set correctly in Vista. The problem seems in FSX. The times are out 1 hour. The picture below is London. As you can see the local and GMT times should be the same but they are 1 hour different.Andrew I have also included a picture of my time settings. The main clock is local Melbourne time and the smaller one id GMT time. As you can see 10 hours difference. The PC clock is good. August 6, 201015 yr Andrew, the time for London is correct. It's called BST (British Summer Time).I have no idea how to fix your problem, but I suspect that FSX only compensates for daylight saving in the Northern Hemisphere, i.e. it does not know that it is currently winter in Australia.Cheers. The problem is the offset in FSX between local time and GMT. In my case it is out 1 hour and I don't know why or how to change it.I fly online would like the time offsets to be right.Andrew Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"
August 6, 201015 yr This is not an FSX issue, FSX simply asks the system for the time. What does your control panel Date & Time say about your DST settings? (click "change Date and Time settings" in the picture you posted above.) Paul Smith.
