August 7, 201015 yr For anyone who is familiar with central London, I thought I'd ask this question. I'm going to be stuck in a hotel there most of the coming week, but I will be working in the city centre up until about 4.30pm, so that'll be four evenings bored to death in a hotel if I can't find something more engaging to do. Any suggestions for good stuff to do in the evenings slap bang in the middle of London?Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 7, 201015 yr London Tower, London Bridge (I hate stairs yet paid to go up the stairs to the overhead walkways). Good view and interesting stuff to see. Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
August 7, 201015 yr Author I think you mean Tower Bridge, which is the bascule suspension bridge over the Thames built in the 1890s. London Bridge is the fairly boring flat bridge just downriver from Tower Bridge. That was allegedly the mistake Robert McCulloch made when he bought London Bridge in the late 1960s, thinking he was buying the more iconic Tower Bridge, although he denied that he was mistaken. The bridge he bought (i.e the original London Bridge) is now in Lake Havasu, Arizona, the current London Bridge which replaced it was completed in the early 1970s and is not really worth visiting LOL. Tower Bridge, just near HMS Belfast is though, I do agree.Cheers for the reply anyway, however I spent a while living in London some years ago, so I've kind of done all that touristy stuff, I was thinking more of some unusual stuff people might know of.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

August 7, 201015 yr You are right Al, I do mean the Tower Bridge. I didn't know you have been there before elsewise I wouldn't have recommended it. :( You could always see about going to Dunsfold to see a taping of TopGear. Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
August 8, 201015 yr Author I used to have to work in Guildford a lot, so I did in fact see the Top Gear chaps every once in a while as they are just up the road from there. That was in a different life when I used to do some PR work for a racing car company. However, after the comedy of errors I had when I was last in Guildford earlier this year, whilst running a training course, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than go back there LOLAl Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
