Momentum Effect (Sorry!)

Featured Replies

Hey Guys!I'm sorry. This has to be discussed a million times before. But i simply can't find a way to turn off the Momentum Effect in FSX.I tried editing the DynamicHeadMovement Section of the FSX.cfg, editing the Cameras.cfg and the specific Aircraft.cfg with all those tweaks and tips around the net.But none of them seems to work or FSX simply ignores my changes.Has anybody a clue how this can be and how i can solve it?Thanks in Advantage!Tom

Do you happen to be using EZdok camera? If so you probably need to disable random motion in your camera config via EZdok Studio.

Nope. Haven't used any Camera addon. Only Sceneries and Aircrafts (Wilco Airbus).Tom

You have set MomentumEffect = No correct?

Hi Thomas,Most people make the mistake of only changing the MomentumEffect=No in the camera.cfg. You also need to change/disable this option in the aircraft.cfg file located in your SimObjects/Airplanes sub folder of FSX.Just open the aircraft.cfg file of the aircraft you want to turn this effect off, look for the following[CameraDefinition.002]Scroll down to MomentumEffect and change the parameter to No, that should stop the effect.Hope this helps.

Hi Tom,In the aircraft.cfg file, did you replace all of the MomentumEffect=No, there may be more than one.

If the above still does not work, try setting HeadMoveTimeConstant to zero in your fsx.cfg file.

Hi Tom,What aircraft are you talking about, or is it all aircraft?. You may want to try and use the word False instead of No, worth a shot.

WHICH camera.cfg are u changing? If it's the one in the FSX main directory then it doesn't have any effect. It needs to be the one which is in the same directory where the fsx.cfg is.
