I still use flightaware and have an insane collection of charts in pdf format from their site. The best part is it's free :)You can also use FSWidgets to do some web browsing. I just got back so am going to test Aviliasofts some more.

I never liked Navigraph's style of their charts, and the fact you have to keep paying to update your charts got old with me very quick. Flightaware is a fantastic resourse, and I also use SkyVector.com, both are free, and have NOAA (AeroNav) charts, which imho, are the best (for US flights of course)

Nice, I too got sick of using Navigraph. I will remain a faithful customer for the fmc navdata but having to use their app to view the pdfs is what killed it for me (and of course the 10 minute load time). I like SkyVector but am use to the similar style of http://www.runwayfinder.com . They are pretty much the same if you look at them, but have a lot of differences if you use them. I like some options better on SkyVector but love RW's instant airport info style. Both are great and teamed up with flightaware is all I need (although I am looking at the link Mike posted too).I also like Flightaware since you can watch actual routes being flown on the map, buy must admit I hardly every have the time ;-)

Wow, that's cool how Runwayfinder has the entire country as one chart - that's the one thing I don't like about skyvector where you have to load the individual enroute high charts etc. Skyvector's actual route editing functions are better I think though.

I never use the popup charts. I normally just click on the airport, get the code then type it into flightaware to finish my plan. One reason I do that is because I like to then save all the charts they have and file them into their own folder for my EFB. At least that's how I'm currently doing it. One thing I prefer on RWfinder is that they show the airports and I can just click them. Very similar with SV but a little different. I'm still in the learning stages of charting so am probably missing some key features SV has but keep going back to it the more that I learn to keep evaluating :)

I agree, I prefer skyvectors method of entry, so I can just type in the route how it reads without having to do tons of ;;;;; seperators like "KHUF;CLINN;JAZZY;STATE;DNV/V;RBS/V;SERCY;MEDAN;JOT/V;NUELG;JULOX;GRIFT;JVL/V;TAVNE;PASYO;GARTT;MSN/V;KMSN"One of the key points I prefer with Runwayfinder is like you said, one continuous chart. That and what I said in the above reply to Scott.

I have just been looking around flightaware a bit more closely and just found out you can download all the IFR charts for an airport with just one link!! That is very nice indeed. I may have to jump on with your workflow Dan and start downloading the charts locally to my laptop/EFB. And as for the charts on SkyVector, it seems that they are straight up photocopies of the real charts you can buy from the NOAA, which I find very cool. And it isnt that much of a pain to switch the charts, because where ever your crosshair is placed, those appropriate charts are linked in the upper right hand corner of the screen.And I believe you can click on airports in Sky Vector as well. One thing I found initially confusing but easily figured out was the codes required on Runwayfinder. They both are very similar, but one thing Runway finder seems to have over SkyVecotor is weather, but I use Active Sky Evo for weather, so I just go by what that says and not get too surprised when the weather is nothing like what is reported :)

Those updates to AivlaSofts EFB sound fantastic! Adds all the things I thought was missing in the version i demo'd. Weather, and now the vertical profile for approach charts, can't wait for this new version to come out.

Scott,I use Aivla EFB, FSWidget EFB and ASE on the same "simconnected" PC without any issues. I guess you have a problem with your FS Widget setup. Did you check you simconnect.cfg in your EFB directory (same IP address, same port as your FSX machine)?Torsten
