Hi everyone!!I've noticed a real lack of available scenery add-ons, freeware or otherwise, for the nation of Japan, particularly for FSX. I always wondered why that is; I feel like it's kind of an untapped market. The other Asia-Pacific hubs seem to get the royal treatment, so to speak, while Japan-o-philes are stuck with default scenery. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see high-end scenery for Narita, Kansai, and the like.Or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough...?? Chime in!!Cheers, guys!!Dexter

You can have Narita. I want a really good Kansai! So far there's only a freeware uses-default-objects scenery for RJBB on flightsim.

I get > 20 FPS @ Ultra High or better everything until I come across addon scenery.

Thats true Eric I don't know what overland is up too, could be there converting there stuff to fsx but I have no idea. they did do it with Incheon International Airport and had the fsx version which was a surprise for me but Narita will be very tough to make for fsx since its big.

Most all of the Overland sceneries work very well in FSX! I own all 9 volumes of the Overland series and have tested them all in FSX. The only ones I've had problems with were Narita, Haneda and Kansai. There were some missing taxiways at those airports and the photoscenery was slightly misaligned, but all of the buildings at the airports were fine and the runways showed up with no problem. All of the smaller airports work beautifully! The only other issue is the AFCAD files don't seem to work properly. I tried converting them to FSX format in AFX, however I still couldn't get any traffic to show up at the airports. I'm not an expert with AFCAD files, but I'm sure someone could get traffic coming and going back into the airports.I did buy the Aerosim Kansai scenery and it is BEAUTIFUL! The frame rates are just as good as the Overland version in FS9 - even with full AI traffic. It is little pricey, though, but I think it was worth the price! I'm eagerly awating their Fukuoka and Kobe sceneries as well! There are very good freeware versions of Kagoshima and Fukushima that I found here: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~lets_fly/On this site: http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/ you can find some EXCELLENT city sceneries for all of the major cities in Japan. There's a good list here of other sceneries available as well: http://www.xs4all.nl/~oosterlo/fsxscenery/japanpage.htmlSadly, Japanese scenery hasn't been very prolific in FSX, but maybe that will change!Have fun!- Alex

Wow... Cheers, Alex!! Tons of good stuff!! I guess some of the sites would make more sense to me if I read Japanese, bu it's a minor inconvenience!!I thought of using the Aerosim sceneries, but I would definitely miss my moving jetways...How spoiled am I?? lolCheers!!Dexter

Dexter...When it comes to navigating those Japanese sites, I don't speak or read Japanese (despite having spent lots of time in Japan on business) but what I do is hover over the links that are in Japanese and then read what they link to in English in the lower left corner of the browser. Makes it a little easier to navigate.. and fortunately, most of the scenery titles are in English too!Aside from the lack of AES moving jetways, I really urge you to try porting some of your Overland airports over to FSX. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how effortless it is! I just copied the scenery folders over to FSX and activated them in the scenery menu. One thing to be aware of: If you copy them directly from FS9 to FSX, and you use AES in FS9, you'll need to go into the scenery folder for each airport once you've copied them to FSX and delete the "xxx.AES" files. That way, you'll get the original jetways back and not the AES jetways (which don't work in FSX)If I could just figure out the AFCAD problems, I'd be 100% satisfied with using the Overland Japanese airports in FSX - at least until someone comes out with FSX versions of them!Good luck! -Alex

I did put some of the overland scenery to my fsx folder but frame rates were not too good for me. I will have to try out again, I have google translate things automatically when I visit pages. its not perfect lol but it helps. thanks for the links Alex. :(
