September 15, 201015 yr Why buy AS 6.5 over ASE?ASE does the same thing but has a better GUI, more options (IIRC), and will also work great with FS9 AND FSX.\Am I missing something? Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
September 15, 201015 yr Why buy AS 6.5 over ASE?ASE does the same thing but has a better GUI, more options (IIRC), and will also work great with FS9 AND FSX.\Am I missing something?Hi Arc:I have been using Active Sky 6.5 for 3 odd years and was very happy with it. After a hiatus of little simming, I recently ungraded to Evolution.Evolution has a slight learning curve to figure everything out, but after learning how to walk, the program is really good.. Much more refined than Active Sky 6.5.The only downside to evolution is the length of time to start the program before FS9. It would be good if this could be sped up.Other than that the weather synthesis is good with very little glitching to date! Like you Arc, other than start up time, I cannot underastand why yoyu would use Active Sky 6.5 over Evolution. Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator
September 15, 201015 yr Commercial Member Quick question regarding ASE guys, I use 6.5 on a networked PC everythings running smooth with a reg version of fsuipc and it's tweaked to run with high end addons without issues. What would be the advantage of moving to ASE? I mean weather advantage not graphical user interface.Regards Rob Prest

September 18, 201015 yr OK I've been doing quite a bot of reading on this....Currently I'm using ActiveSky Evolution and the standard FS9 textures.I'm seriously thinking of buying REX - but only for the textures as I wish to maintain my use of the Evolution weather generator (I like it).Is it possible to only use Evolution for weather generator and ONLY install the REX textures? I like the airport textures that REX offers. Thanks, Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator

September 18, 201015 yr IT always amazes me that a program will work on one computer but not another.I would have kept on using 6.5, however, lost the registration key, therefore, needed to repurchase - so I figured I may as well opt for evolution, Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator

September 18, 201015 yr Thanks Mad Dog. But, I've already installed evolution and am using it - so........It's a good program too, although I miss active sky. Best, Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator
