October 13, 201015 yr I've downloaded and installed the FS Passengers demo and from what I've seen it looks like a fun addition to my flying experience - online and offline. I'd just like to ask others what their opinion of this product is and whether they think it is worth spending money on. I appreciate any information that can be provided. Matthew Bellette
October 13, 201015 yr Matthew, Once you go Pax, you'll never go back.Ok, so that was a tad corny, but yeah, it is very worth it and I personally don't fly without it. It's worth the cost just for the failures. It adds a lot to my enjoyment and working your way up from the bottom (non cheat mode) can really be a lot of fun. Too many things to list. Buy it and if you don't like it,,, then ummm, I'll buy your dog off ya :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 13, 201015 yr FSPax is fun. I only use it, but turn off all the cabin calls, the f/o stuff, and the w+b, I let the addon plane load manager deal with that (or Topcat). It is fun because it adds consequences to your flights. Dont act like a maniac, climb and descend at reasonable rates, dont lower the gear in cruise, dont lower the flaps above flap speed, or you will damage your plane. And you wil soon find the hard landing exploding your tires to be fun. Makes you practice and learn to kiss your landings real quick. It is fun, and I recommend it for sure. Make sure you use the Highmemfix=1 tweak, or the popups screens will kill you. October 14, 201015 yr Good point Scott. Make sure you don't use it's weight & Fuel settings. An option you'll see when you start using. One thing I forgot to say was it's fun to replace sounds of the voice packs and have several I intermix including my own commical, but X-rated stuff. If you can use sound editors and rename files, you can have a lot of fun with its crew announcements, for sure.Scott also touched on the consequences and that it will teach you to pay attention more if your not already and after completing a flight you get lot's of other info you may or may not find useful. I personally love carreer mode, here's a copy of my last flight so you can see the data you'll see:Flight DP630 flight report log Date October 13 2010Flight ID: DP630Flight Type: NormalPilot: DanoCompany: Dart IncAircraft: PMDG MD-11 IRON PWFlight Date: October 13 2010Departure: 07h30 (05h30 GMT)Arrival: 10h00 (08h00 GMT)From: LEPA - Palma De Mallorca - SpainTo: EHAM - Schiphol - NetherlandsPlanned flight time: 02h24 (real flight time 02h38)Nbr of Passengers: 258Report:Flight Distance: 772 Nm Landing Speed: 146.90 ktTime Airborne: 02h21:30 Landing Touchdown: -270.00 ft/m (nice)Flight Time (block): 02h38:36 Landing Pitch: 3.06°Time On Ground: 00h18:56 Landing Weight: 434678 lbsAverage Speed: 327.33 kt Total Fuel Used: 45209 lbsClimb Time: 00h02:52 Climb Fuel Used: 5125 lbsCruise Time: 01h33:25 Cruise Fuel Used: 27976 lbsAverage Cruise Speed: 442.60 kt (M0.67) Cruise fuel/hour: 17968 lbs (calc)Descent Time: 00h45:13 Descent Fuel Used: 12108 lbsPlayer real flight time: 02h21:30 (airborne w/o time acceleration)Passenger Opinion: Exceptional flight (100%)-Are relieved to have landed safely after the extreme weather they experienced during landing.-Were highly entertained by the movie.-Were in a better mood because they had food.-Were pleased by the music on ground. October 14, 201015 yr I tried the demo with the PMDG MD-11 and had so many issues it wasn't funny so I gave up on it, one of them from memory was the fact I had no panels left for it. Jay Vorkapic
October 14, 201015 yr Well, technically that is one problem Jay, but yeah it can have cascades of issues and sometimes not an easy one to find, but to explain a bit what he's talking about and a possible fix for Jay...The issue is because 99% of addons need to use a window. The MD-11 being what it is had to have a very high number to make things work the way they do, with all the pop ups, VC, etc... If you have just one or two other addons that use windows (some use more than one), then it may crash or lock up FSX. This isn't an FSP issue, it is just an unfortunate thing with having lots of addons fighting for space. This is one reason I don't use FS2Crew currently in the MD.A possible fix for you Jay or others. Go into your Gauge folder in the FSX root and "CUT" the "missionpanels.cfg" and the "Missions.cab" and place them somewhere else. They are only needed for FSX missions and only if you want the mission compas. This worked for me and has been smooth sailing ever since. Any other aircraft you will not have this issue and again, it was the way the MD-11 had to be done and not an FSP issue. Thankfully FSP is one of the rare addon companies to make a log file or this would still be a mystery. This post reminded me of how much I like FSP. Put it this way,,, if the same window issue exists with the NGX to where I can't use other addons with it like FSP, then I simply won't be flying it :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 14, 201015 yr Don't get it if you have Ultimate Traffic 2, or be very careful when you use it. The way it injects traffic is different from the other traffic add-ons. If you open up windows in FSX that pause the game (Like opening up Flight Planner, Nav Log, or the windows in FS PAX) UT2 will restart.UT2 is a good program though, just with that one bug. October 14, 201015 yr Just to add to Eric's comment above. FSP uses Simconnect. It is the only traffic program that does this and has this issue. If you access any menu at all with UT2 it will reset the traffic. This is something they are not going to address and they have mentioned that in weighing the benefits to this 1 con decided to leave it as is. This has absouletly nothing, zilch, nadda, 0 to do with FSP of course and if you hit escape real fast just too see the exit screen and back again and manage to do this in 1/10th of a second, UT2 will reset. I use it all the time and own every traffic program out there but still prefer my UT2 and it works without issue with FSP. Again this is not really a UT2 bug, but just the way it is and shouldn't effect anyones decission in getting FSP since it has nothing to do with nothing.Someone once gave me some great advice on one thing you may see with FSP. When you take off, FSP will think you refueled and present a warning of sorts telling you it's not allowed. If you don't want to see your traffic reset after a long prep and taxi then when you first get your fuel set to what you want, go into the PMDG fuel menu and add something small like 100lbs. You will still get the warning from fsp but that's the point,,, to get it early on so you won't lose the progress of your traffic later since you will only get that warning once. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

October 15, 201015 yr A question about FSPax from my side:The failures work for every FSX aircraft automatically or something needs to be tweaked in there? And how often the problems occur? Random? Thnxx Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
October 15, 201015 yr A question about FSPax from my side:The failures work for every FSX aircraft automatically or something needs to be tweaked in there? And how often the problems occur? Random? ThnxxHi Martin, There is nothing you need to tweak. The only thing I recommend is disabling failures in other areas if you have them on. So in other words if the aircraft has failures you would want that disabled since FSP won't recognize other failure generators.Problems occur based on what percent you have it set for. Mine is set for 5% and I rarely see failures under normal circumstances, however if I fail to get my 25 hour scheduled Maintenance or my 100 hour (never went that long), the % goes up and you will most like see something go wrong soon enough. I enjoy going over the 25 hour mark and seeing what I get since my 5% setting can get boring, but I also don't have a huge budget for my company right now and some of the failures are pretty expen$ive. I have loads of payware aircraft and have used defaults too when my company was young and FSP interacts great with all of them with cool visuals. I look forward to the next generation failure generator from PMDG, but until then FSP's in my opinion is the best one available in FS. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 15, 201015 yr Can't live without it. Is it also Concorde-X compatible?Hi Derian, Glad to help and glad to see you got the plugin working. As for FSP/Concorde. I don't know since I don't own it. I would check the FSP forum if no one here can vouch for it. I couldn't see why not since someone will surely create a profile for it if they haven't already done so. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

I believe it was in the Maddog where I had an issue, and when I landed, FSPax said that there appeared to be an error, and it was caused by the aircrafts system instead of FSPax's, and it still gave me credit for it. Pleasent surprise. The one things I do not like for FSPaxs failiure, is their electrical failiure, where you have to turn off the "master avionics" switch, which most of the planes I have do not have. So I have to land immediately instead of being able to fix it and continu the flight.
