October 16, 201015 yr Please help.I have spent a long time trying to install scenery; have looked in lots of forums and done searches but not getting anywhereHave unzipped approp to addon scenery folder but problem occurs when try and activatre it with fs2004.When I press "add scenery" it opens up correctly and I locate the right file. The online tutorials state that I click on the file ande it is then added. When I do this however, it just opens the file and wants to keep opening the file structure until there is nothing to open and an empty box without actuually adding the scenery.Am i being stupid and missng something. It just does not want to work properly.many thanks - andy

Here it just does what you describe. Instead, in the add scenery dialog box, click once on the file (eg FS9/addon scenery/wherever) to select it and then "OK" to add the area. If that doesn't work I'm stumped. Hope it does.Tim

October 16, 201015 yr Andy,You can always add new scenery via editing the scenery.cfg located in your main FS9 folder.Actually this is how I always do it if a scenery is not activated automatically.[Area.X]Title=YOUR NEW SCENERYLayer=XActive=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=ADDON SCENERY\YOUR NEW SCENERYRemote=Just add another entry like the above, changing X into the next available number and YOUR NEW SCENERY into its exact title (as it was installed). If it is installed not to the Addon Scenery folder just change into the right path. Here's a real example taken from mine:[Area.182]Title=Napulevola LIRN2006Layer=182Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=ADDON SCENERY\Napulevola LIRN2006Remote=Also if you are using Aerosoft AES (Airport Enhancement Services) remember that it should always be put as the last entry you have. And of course, as usual, make a safe backup copy of your current scenery.cfg in case something goes wrong.Be aware too that the numbering philosophy in the scenery.cfg is the opposite tio the library: the last added scenery in the cfg file has the highest number being the last one. In the library it is the other way.If you solve the problem of adding new Scenery via the library, that is great of course. But if you don't, here you have an alternative option, working very fine as well. :(
