Cross Canada flight in TriMotor...

Featured Replies

Abent, during my lunch hour, I went home and did a few touch and go's in the Tri Motor. It's really a nice plane. If you'd like a flying buddy for your cross-canada trip let me know. You're schedule (an hour or so a night) works for me. We'd just have to make sure we can do multiplayer. My email address is [email protected]

Thanks...Leg 2 completed. Princeton to Invermere - 185 miles. Major workout for the old trimotor climbing to 11000+ feet. Arrived with 18 gals of fuel left. Very harrowing experience LOL. Major climbout tomorrow. I'll bring a tad more fuel next time.Adam

Hi VectorOne of the joys of being a techie is I get to see the pained faces of other support guys who have been up til 3am the previous night playing RTCW or Unreal or whatever their poison. We understand the need to squander our lives working on our VDU tans!CheersLungsPS Much better thanks - my framerates have finally stabilised at a sensible compromise! :9

Not that anyone is necessarily interested, but I've completed my 5th leg and am presently spending the night in Swift Current, Sask. Way more than 2000 miles to go to get to St Johns. Had to get special permission today to fly after dusk as I'm vfr all the way. :DAdam

On your trip make sure to stop in at City Centre airport in Toronto and say hello (CYTZ).http://www.torontoport.com/TCCA.htmI FINALLY made the leg to PHNL from KLAX (I used X2 speed mid flight to help me through the long leg).Needless to say I did some touring of the islands once I was there>>>See you in the fence...CYYZ

I'm still deciding whether to take the northern route across to Ottawa. I guess I should stop in to TO as I was born there. Also, should visit St. Catherines because I lived there for the first year of life. More than likely I'll see ya there. Thanks for the link!Cheers, Adam

I'm doin' sumfink simular but gahn across the bleedin' U.S. hittin' evry major city, all state capitals, all international airports, right, all 'igh detail airports, and a 'oole bunch of weeer fields. I'm flyin' usin' the bleedin' Jenny and the 172. I fly short 'ops usually about an 'our at the bloody longest and average about 3-5 flights a week. I'm totally enjoyin' flyin' in this new sim and am in no rush ter complete this flight plan. I also plan on flyin' the historical flights of the bleedin' DC-3, Jenny, Spirit of St Louis, and Cub wen I cop to the cities of orgin then ferry hammer and tack usin' the Lear. Once done wiv the U.S. I plan on tryin' some of the chuffin' uvver international flights. Also I plan on re takin' me Private, right, Commercial, and Instrument checkrides wen in the Seattle area. Cor blimey guv! So far I traveled from Meigs ter Denver. It is for this reason why I wish the bleedin' next version would offer more info in the log butcher's hook like number of lands and wx at departure and arrival airports. I fink this would be a great add-on especially if they did a scrape butcher's hook that automatically would take James Deanshots dependin' on the chuffin' number yer set. Could yer imagine that feature? NP

In re your sharing a runway with a 747, I believe that in real life that would not happen. If I am correct, major airports with large transport traffic will not allow a single engine GA aircraft to get anywhere close to the giants...and in busy rush hours, will not even allow take offs, and landings only as a last resort genuine emergency.Sherm

I don't know about that. I was doing a real world approach into KPDX on the weekend and was on right downwind for 28R. The controller wanted to get me down before a 737 on 3nm final. So I did a steep slipping turn direct for the numbers and cleared at the first taxiway. I was still on the taxiway when the 737 cleared the active a few exits ahead of me. It was a little exhilarating to see a bird like that closing on me. I definitely knew I wanted a full flap short field landing. While I was taxiing around to clear customs and refuel, The heavys were sharing taxiways with me all over the place.

Abent, you ought to post a screen shot now and then. I am enjoying this thread!Miller

CYYZ has GA traffic in there all the time. In fact when flying to the USA you have to stop at CYYZ for custom purposes. I have made many trips from Buttonville to Pearson in real life.See you in the fence...CYYZ
